My friend saw this new cafe published in the newspaper and suggested it when we were out for dinner. Not very hard to find, it is just opposite Hope Children Hospital along Jalan Perak.
"Tech Life With Simple Coffee" as their tagline, almost all tables were equip with an Android tablet.
We sat on the second floor. The cafe is very spacious and bright. Simple design with a little bit of modern touch. Quite nice.
The Android tablet on our table. Free wifi provided by the cafe. They have their menu as an apps too but it was still not working then.
Soya sauce, salt and pepper are put in test tubes. Creative but not very practical. Not easy to pour soya sauce or salt out from the test tubes.
Our drinks. Lemon Blended and Peach Blended. My Lemon Blended had a bit of vanilla taste in it. Think they add in some vanilla ice-cream and blend together with the lemon. Not bad, I like it :)
Both of us ordered the Dinner Set, which comes with soup, a main course and dessert. Drinks not included.
Seriously, I don't know what soup this is. Initially I thought it was pumpkin soup, but I didn't taste any pumpkin. And the soup was cold!! I don't like cold soup when it's supposed to be served hot.
Grilled Mushroom Chicken. Small portion and the mushroom sauce is almost bland. I had to put some salt in.
Grilled Black Pepper Chicken. Friend's comment: "ok"
And lastly, ice-cream for dessert. Nothing special here.
The food are just mediocre for me, but the price are somewhat reasonable. Might be back again next time to try the coffee.

Had a quick dinner with my friend at Sushi Tei the other night. First time here ever since it opened in Gurney Plaza. We sat at the counter, near the entrance. Inside were packed and almost full.
We just ordered the ala carte and didn't even grab anything from the kaiten belt.
Green tea to go with our meals.
Hotate Tamago Don. I ordered this. Very fragrant but the taste was just average for me. Despite saying that, they were very generous on the big scallops.
Ishiyaki Soba Chicken. My friend ordered this from the monthly special promotion. She commented it was nice albeit the portion looked small to me :)
Saw a few dishes in the menu which kinda interest me. Might pay this place a second visit =D
When I first heard of this place, I didn't even know the existence of this restaurant. Was invited to a dinner with the rest of the team and also the users from other countries in Asia Pacific. They were here for a training conducted by one of our department and I had to was involved as well.
My big boss suggested this restaurant. Even my German boss dined here a few times -.- It's an alfresco style restaurant and exactly next to the beach. I walked out to the beach to take some photos. Small beach but kinda dirty though =\

One of the managers was in charge of ordering the dishes as she been here for a few times.
First dish was sorta of an appetizers. Satay Chicken. The satay meats were marinated and coated with their special sauce, so no peanuts curry were provided.
Spinach in Peanuts and Scallops Soup. Like the soup. Very flavorful.
Fried Soft Tofu.
Fried Mee Tiao. Lots of prawns.

Steamed Fish Teochew Style
Steamed Fish in Curry Gravy. Not very sure if this was curry or tom yam, the manager said she ordered for curry gravy but somehow it looked and tasted like tom yam =P
Scallops with Mixed Veggies.
And last dish of the night, one of the restaurant's specialties. Cheese Baked Crabs. Too salty for me, maybe cause of the cheese. Each of us got one and it's not cheap for a small crab. Burned a hole in another manager's pocket, hahaha.
Overall, it was a pleasant dinner with good food and nice company.

Finally!! Last day and also last post =P Been wondering myself when I would finish this short travelogue =_=
We only got 2 destinations to go on our last day at Hat Yai. First stop, Wat Hat Yai Nai, The Reclining Buddha Temple.
The wat displays the 35m long reclining Buddha (Phra Phut Mahatamongkon), seem to be the largest in Southern Thailand and claim to be 3rd largest in the world. We were greeted by a lady at one side of the temple, requested us to buy roof tiles to contribute the construction of the temple. We wanted to buy some joss sticks to pray and we asked for the price. Initially she said the amount is up to us but when we were about to take out our money, she said it's 100 Baht -.-'' After that, she began to 'market' some stuffs, again using the name of the temple.
We bought the joss sticks and noticed that there is a long metal bent in a winding manner among the joss sticks. Wondering what is it, we asked the lady. She told us it's for putting some money for the temple after praying =_='' I don't mind giving some money for the temple, but donation should be voluntary and not harass for.
The temple is not very well maintained as the one we have in Penang. Maybe that was the reason they are 'desperate' for donations. Inside the base of temple is the mausoleum where they keep the Buddha Relics and ashes of the deceased.
Our second stop, Wat Koksaman. This is the temple where they plan to built the world's first black jewel LP Tuad statue.
"Luang Phor Thuad (LP Thuad) is a legendary monk of times past. In our generation, he is famous for amulets made in his image which many believe hold great protective powers which have been proven to be effective time and again.
LP Thuad amulets are known for the following powers:
1) Protection from accidents (such as traffic accidents and even natural disasters and so on)
2) Protection from all sorts danger (such as gunfire)
3) Protection from black magic and any form of offensive spells

My friend wanted to come here to get the amulet for her new car. It's some sort like a car decal with the image of LP Thuad and some mantra writing on both sides. Was thinking of getting one too for my car. Unfortunately for us, we couldn't find it there. Not sure if we are at the right place, as it seems to be more like a Buddhist school.

We walked around the place for a bit then we stop at a small coffee shop just outside the temple for a short break and quick lunch.

Soon after our lunch, we headed back to our hotel, packed and bye-bye Hat Yai. We'll meet again next time!! xD
