Monday blues with each-a-cup

Was darn lazy at work. Well, it was Monday and my boss was not around, so... everyone was lazy. One of my colleague even played the music out loud. Anyway went for lunch alone today. Went to the bank at QBM to settle some my thing. Was done with the bank when I suddenly recalled my cousin told me about this drink stall called Each-A-Cup which is very famous in Singapore.

Since I was there, so I thought of giving it a try and see what the hype is all about. Walked from one end to the other end in the basement and ground floor till I finally noticed it at level 1 =.=''

Lots of choices to choose from. But since I taken a lot of time just hunting for the stall, I just randomly chose one and rushed back to work. Was late for like 5 minutes =x

Nah, my Green Apple Smoothie with added Pearl. Costs me RM4.50 for that, ughh... Took a sip, hmmm... another sip, hmmm... conclusion, nothing to shout about, hahaha. Tasted almost the same as any ice blended drink or smoothie. The taste is good, don't get me wrong, maybe I just had a bit high expectation on it, since it was so famous in Singapore and all.

I went over to their website and it is stated that they use all natural and high quality fruit ingredients and tea imported from Taiwan. In case you are curious, here's the website - Each-A-Cup

With my each-a-cup and some chocos and candies my colleagues brought back from taiwan, that summed up lunch on Monday.

Well, I guess it was not really that bad of a Monday xD

Young Heart Restaurant

Visited this place sometime last month with SY. Actually drove passed this restaurant lots of times whenever I went to Gurney, but never got a chance to dine there. Well, the chance came when my cousin was working there as a part timer. Dine while visiting her, hehe. Got some discounts too le xD
The banner of the cafe, just outside the gate near the roadside. You won't miss it if you use the road at Pulau Tikus where Bandar Baru Supermarket is.

They served mostly home cooked dishes and according to my cousin, they also emphasize on healthy food. SY and I actually planned to have our lunch there, but each of us ended up having our lunch beforehand =x So we just opt for the snacks.

Both of us shared the hot tea - natural flower tea mixture (rose, blue marrow, peppermint) I somehow felt myself so old drinking this, normally I would order something cold. Was about to, but scolded by my cousin and SY T_T

Deep Fried Young Heart Bean Curd (6pcs) - RM5. Own homemade bean curd served with chili sauce. Very nice dish, and it actually doesn't really taste like normal bean curd. Albeit I can't remember what it tasted like, blek. Second photo shows the filling of the bean curd, and it was no where like the normal bean curd. Thumbs up for this dish.

Deep Fried Young Heart Chicken Wing (Special Flavor)- RM4.60. The chicken wing not bad as well. Nicely flavored and very fragrance.

I walked around after the light meal to snap some photos of the place. It's not very big, think the most it could accommodate is maybe around 25 - 30 people. But I didn't go upstairs, my cousin told me the room upstairs is usually reserved for functions.

Some of the photos taken while snooping around =P

There is even a section almost like a tatami style. Diners can opt and have the pleasure of sitting on the floor instead of on the chairs.

Selection of books and novels for those that like to sip their hot tea with a book in their hands.
They even sell their own homemade aloe vera jelly from homegrown aloe vera xD

Some of the promotions available during the time we were there. My cousin told me now they have a different promotions. But what I am attracted to is not the promotion from the set meals but rather from the Rainy Day Special. It's not often you get to have discounts while dining on a rainy day, haha.

Homegrown Aloe Vera, lots and lots of them. All looking so healthy and fat =D

A plant with heart shaped leaves. Read somewhere that it's called the Sweetheart Hoya.

We stayed there for quite sometimes, slowly sipping and refilling our tea while online. Oh ya, I forgot to mention, the place is wi-fi enabled as well xD. So it's actually a nice and relaxing place to hang.

I might come again to try their handmade noodles and also their home cooked dishes. Do check them out for those never been here yet xD

Daorae Korean BBQ Restaurant

Celebrated Shu's birthday last month at Daorea, a Korean BBQ Restaurant at Bayan Point. Wanted to blog about this sooner, but was waiting for my friend to lend me the cable to her digital camera. But after I managed to transfer everything to my lappy, I was to busy to process the photos. Been busy at work lately, came back too tired to do anything else. Well, anyway, better late than never.

It was my first time dining at Daorea, albeit it's been open for quite sometime now and not to mention it's quite near to my house. Not really a fan of Korean food, especially kimchi. And the place always come across to me as pricey =x

I initially thought that they only serve bbq food, but as I browsed through the menu, there are a lot of ala carte to choose from.

Every table is equipped with this chute, which can be pulled up and down. It will suck most of the smoke from the bbq. And if I remember correctly, the charcoal they used are also smokeless.

A large lump of veggie. Not sure what veggie it was. We are supposed to wrap the cooked bbq meat with the veggie and eat them together. But I don't remember anyone of us did that, haha.

Some of the complimentary side dishes. The side dishes on the first photos are actually refillable. This is the first time I went to a restaurant which offers refillable free side dishes @.@ Not bad huh?

The bbq pit with burning hot charcoal underneath. Didn't managed to snap the charcoal when the waiter brought it in, but as you can see from the photo, there is no smoke coming out from the pit.

Marinated pork meat, ready to be cooked xD

Top side done.

Done and cut into small pieces. The bbq-ing process till the cutting process are all done by the waiter.

The waiter wasted no time and continued bbq-ing the marinated chicken meat when he was done with the pork meat.

While he was busy with the bbq, our ala carte arrived. Didn't snap any photos of the ala carte dishes except for mine and TK's (cause he sat beside me and I managed to curi snap =P)

My kimchi fried rice. If you are a kimchi fan, then you would like this dish. The fried rice was very flavorful of kimchi.

TK's ala carte, can't remember what it's called. There is rice inside the soup and it comes with one whole small chicken. Very filling dish I would say.

After our meal, each of us were given a bowl of this. Another complimentary dish, and it looked intimidating when they were served to us, haha. Not sure what it was, all of us drank it. It tasted like the soup for tang yuen except that there was no tang yuen in it.

Watermelon for dessert.

The aftermath.....

Seating arrangement on the second floor, tatami style. Need to take off our shoes we could enter this section.

After our meal, we continue to hang around and chat till it was almost closing time. Its been quite a while since I last met them. We don't really hang out as much as we used to anymore. But still keep in touch once in a while.

Dooodolls..............

Got this from my bro, he bought it for my birthday present. Only managed to pass to me during his own birthday, haha. Dooodolls, hmm... saw this range of soft toys at MPH a couple of years back if not mistaken. I like the small one better, my bro got me the average medium size.

Pinky Pirate the rabbit. At least that's what I think it is, a pink rabbit. Smiling so happily with a patched eye and that small red triangle shaped mouth of his xD

"Biological" details for Pinky Pirate. I could really make use of that magical wooden sword of his =D

Closer view of the pirate. Somehow it look kinda cute after staring at it for quite a while =P

My first and also last dooodolls. Anyone has one as well? xD
