Morganfield's @ Gurney Paragon

Been wanting to try this place ever since I saw the 'Opening Soon' sign. But been too busy or just couldn't find the right crowd. Finally got my chance to dine here after my cousin suggested this place to celebrate her belated birthday.

We didn't order their specialties, which are the sticky bones. Instead we decided to try something else.

Chili Cheese Footlong Dog - A grilled foot long Bratwurst sausage in a bun topped with chili concarne melted cheese. Adrena ordered this and she simply love it. I tried a bit of the sausage, it was quite good.

Smokehouse Bacon Cheeseburger - Pork burger patty grilled and glazed with Hickory BBQ sauce, topped with Cheddar cheese, caramelized onions crispy pork bacon. Audrea ordered the burger as she didn't know what else to order -.-'' Nonetheless, good choice, as the pork patty was succulent and flavorful. Quite a big portion too.

Seafood Basket - Beer-battered fish, beer-battered prawns and beer-battered calamari. Served with coleslaw, French fries tangy tartar sauce. Kee Lee ordered this basket-ful of seafood. Despite being beer-battered everything, the taste was just average. Nothing special about it.

Steak and Chicken Combo with Baked Potato and Baguette - 150gm Sirloin Steak and Quarter Tequila Spiked Chicken. I ordered this and don't really like it. The chicken was just ok and the steak, not up to my expectation. I actually enjoy the side dishes more compare to the main course. The baguette was crispy outside and soft inside, like it a lot.

I like my steak medium-rare. But this steak was still cold in the middle. Don't really enjoy it.

I like this 'moving' table concept. They just need to turn the wheel and adjust the tables accordingly to the numbers of diners. Kinda cool, hehe.

The long stretch of glass panes will open at night to reveal the bar.

Might probably come here again to try the sticky bones. And it's a great place to just hang out and chill with friends.

Granny's 80th Birthday @ Jade Palace Seafood Restaurant

Celebrated my grandma's 80th birthday last Saturday night. My uncle treated all of us to a family dinner at Jade Palace Seafood Restaurant. My first time dining there. Didn't even know there is a chinese restaurant along Abi Siti Lane =x

Took some quick photos of all the dishes that night. Borrowed my friend's camera for it xD

Petai~ My least favourite dish. I don't take vegetables =\

Fish meat, cooked in two different style? Adrena said there were two different fish meats. I don't really tasted the difference, tasted just like fish to me =P But the presentation of the dish gave me an impression that fish meats were from that whole fish itself. Anyway, it was nice dish xD

Pork Trotter, very tasty albeit a bit fattening.

Some bread or mantou for the gravy from the pork trotter. I always have the impression that mantou are round in shapes.

Kailan Veggie. The leaves are cut from the stems and fried till crispy. Kinda nice.

Kerabu Chicken. Only had one or two pieces of this.

Fried Mantis Prawn. Nice dish but a tad salty and powdery.

We thought this to be tomyam soup and even scooped it to our small bowls. But it turned out not to be tomyam soup. It was actually prawn curry -.-''

Our dessert of the night, Peanut Soup *I think it's called peanut soup* and err, some fried stuffs with lotus seed paste. Ok, I don't know what it's called but it was a bit too sweet for me. Not really fond of sweet foods =.=

Overall most of the dishes were nice, and it's nice to have some sort of a family gathering dinner once in a while. Didn't meet with some of my cousins for quite sometimes and it was nice catching up with them again, even if it was only for a short period.

And again, Happy Birthday Ah Ma!!~~ xD

Harvest In Cafe

Harvest In Cafe, my second birthday treat :D This time treated by one of my close friend from high school. Been wanting to come here for sometimes now, but just couldn't find the time. Grateful that she remembered xD

Ice Lemon Tea and Ice Latte.

Hot Latte

Soup of the Day. Don't know what soup it was. Creamy but not mushroom soup. It came with our set dinner and none of us know what soup it was, hahaha.

Mushroom Steak. Served as how I ordered it, medium rare. Pinkish in the middle of the meat and some blood oozing out when I cut it. Nice, just how I like it. Enjoyed it a lot xD

BBQ Chicken. MC ordered this, yes, the same MC who treated me on my birthday eve. She happened to call me that day, so we invited her to join us.

Spaghetti in Fusion Style Seafood. New dish, AL gave this a try. Looked nice with all the prawns, shrimps, mussels and everything. But AL said it was only so so.

Our desserts of the night. Fruits tart and ice cream. I only ate the ice cream, don't like fruits tarts, blek.

Tables and chairs setting.

Lots of clocks hanging on the wall. Some are even for sell.

The place was full that night. There were even people waiting outside. But AL told me it is always full, even during lunch time. Better to make reservation in advance if you decide to dine here, or you can try your luck walk in =D

PS: Thanks to AL again for the treat :)

Daniel's Birthday - El Mondo Italian & Western Cuisine

Celebrated Daniel Boii's birthday last Friday night. I know, another late post, wanted to blog about this few days back but end up sick. Getting much better now, well at least now I can lie down flat on my tummy again (for a while before it hurts again -.-).

Anyway, back to the main topic. Daniel's birthday supposed to be the 5th March, but we has a early celebration for him. Went to El Mondo @ E-gate for dinner. All first time diners at that place - Adrena, Audrea, Su Yan, Kee Lee and Me~~ All girls celebrating for Daniel's birthday, hehe.

Various types of pasta displayed on the table outside the restaurant.

El Mondo's menu book.

Interior of the restaurant. Partly open kitchen concept, though we can't actually sit there and watch them preparing our food.

Lots of Tabascos' miniatures, displayed nicely on the counter.

Our drinks - Strawberry Milkshake with float, 2 Lemonade, Ice Lemon Tea and Carrot Juice.

Vanilla Milkshake with Float.

Spaghetti Amatriciana Ala Pepe - Spaghetti with Beef Bacon in Black Pepper Sauce. This is actually the first time I saw spaghetti cooked this way, with black pepper sauce I mean. The taste? Just like eating instant 'mee goreng' except this being spaghetti =P

Spaghetti Aragosta - Spaghetti with slipper Lobster Meat, Prawns, Chili and Cream in Tomato Sauce. Adrena ordered this and she regretted ordering it, hahaha. Nothing special about it except being a tad spicy, that was it.

Lasagna Con Pollo - Chicken Lagasana with Tomato Sauce, Cheese and Spinach. Su Yan ordered this, and was very stuff halfway through it, lolz. Very cheesy and nice, but very filling as well. Thumb up for this dish.

Pan Fried Seabass - Seabass fillet Pan-fried to crispy perfection serve with Steam Asparagus and Dill Butter Sauce. Ordered by the birthday boy and he liked it a lot, haha. Another thumb up xD

Lasagna Di Carne - Minced beef lasagna with Tomato Sauce, Bechamel and Cheese. I was deciding between the Fettuccine Carbonara and this. I am a fan of Fettuccine Carbonara but I opt for this instead. Luckily for me, I don't regret having this. Cheesy and I like the tomato sauce. One more thumb up xD

Calamari Ring - Marinated squid ring fried to perfection serve with Lemon Wedge and Tartare Sauce. Kee Lee only ordered this. She arrived very late and had taken her dinner at home. And she somehow managed to take the wrong road and went all the way to Queensbay before turning back to E-Gate -.-'' But she didn't make the wrong choice of food. The Calamari Ring was superb. Nicely marinated and fried. All of us like it. Two thumbs up for it xD

There was this promotion when we were there. For every order of any pasta or pizza, guests would be entitled for 1 lucky draw. We ordered 4 pasta dishes, so we are entitled for 4 lucky draws.

Lucky draw prizes written in small boxes placed inside a Famous Amos biscuits can, hehe.

And, all 4 of us pull out the same prize. Small Tabasco's miniature, wakakaka. Well, better than nothing right? ^.^v

After our dinner, we walked over to Starbucks. Ordered some drinks and chit chat till it was 12am, official birthday date for Daniel Boii (05-03-2011). Bought a few pieces of cakes from Secret Recipe, light up a candle and sang a birthday song for him xD *Daniel Boii must be very 'kam tong' after this =P*

Daniel's 'birthday cake' =D

I know it's a bit late now, but Happy Birthday again Daniel Boii and hope you had a great time that night xD
