The Cruise Steak House Revisit

Bought another voucher to this place. 3 Course Meal for 4 pax, bought the voucher sometime back in August, we almost forgot about it @_@ But luckily we didn't, so I was here, yet again, hehe...

Introducing the C-3PO from Penang. Got a part-time job as a waiter xD

While waiting for our food, I snapped some photos of the place which I didn't manage to take the first time I was here. We were here early, so not a lot of customers yet.
The drink counter.

Some 'accessories' on the counter.

Our drinks. I Do Not Mind, Fly to The Sky 2, Lucky Leave and Lemon Sea Coconut (names of the drinks from left-clockwise). The voucher didn't include drinks, so we ordered them separately.

Our mushroom soups.

My Lamb Chop. Quite a big piece. Just average for me. Would have been nicer if there are some mint sauce.

Caryn opted for the Seafood Spaghetti. Small portion, she was still not full after finishing the whole plate, haha.

Eileen ordered the Salmon Steak. She finished the whole plate with no complaint, so I guess it was good :)

And lastly, Arius went for the Honey-smoked Chicken. Very big piece of drumstick sat on top of 2 lumps of mashed potatoes. She can hardly finished it, but it was good.

Desserts, 1 scoop of ice-cream each. Just normal ice-cream, nothing to comment here.

And as we were leaving, complimentary drinks from the house. I think they gives this to all their customers.

Jade Blossom Restaurant @ 1st Avenue

My friends both this voucher which offered 7 course meal at Jade Blossom Restaurant. And I was treated to this meal, hehe. Jade Blossom located in 1st Avenue is the newly open branch in Penang. The first branch is located at Krystal Point. Only been there once though.

Our food were served all at once except for the desserts.

Hot and Sour Soup

Prawn Pieces with Fermented Rice Sauce

Soft Shell Crab Pieces with Egg Threads and Oats

Chicken Pieces in Lemon Sauce

Braised Whelk Abalone

Jade Blossom Fried Rice

And last but not least, our desserts.
Sweetened Pumpkins with Sweet Corn

All in all, the food were rather disappointing. They were served cold and the portions were rather small for 4 pax. Maybe because we were using voucher, but if this is the standard of the food, then I don't think I'll be coming back with or without voucher.

BeerBQ Bistro @ Precinct 10

A newly open Bistro at Precinct 10, well maybe not that new, they started their business sometimes on the early January this year. Anyway, the bistro is own by one of my ex-colleague. It actually never occurred to me that she would resigned to open a bistro, haha... But nevertheless, good for her, now she gets to be the boss xD I visited this place on 2 separate occasions. First time was on my birthday.

My friend recommended me their signature dish, BeerBQ Pork Ribs. Love it!! Marinated to perfection, I like their thick signature BeerBQ sauce a lot. Generous portion of the ribs, tender meat and very flavorful. Highly recommend this, two thumbs up.

My friend ordered the set lunch. Only RM9.90 for a main course and a drink. Of course there is a list of only the main course you can choose from. She opted for the Roast Pork Pasta. The spaghetti is cooked al dente, but the taste was just mediocre. Nothing to shout at and same goes for the roast pork.

Lots of German and Irish beers to go with the food.

Top floor of the bistro. Can accommodate to over 20 people in this area. They also do events or functions such as birthday party.

View from the top.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok, this part of the post is on my second visit. Adrena suggested to have a cousins' gathering and I suggested this place. Helped my friend to promote her bistro a little bit, hehe.
Our drinks. BeerBQ Fresh Mocktails being the first glass but sorry I can't remember the names of the other two drinks @.@
Wild Mushroom Soup. Lots of small chunky mushrooms in the soup. It was nice, not superb but just nice.
Smoked Salmon Salad, I didn't try this, but those that tried just said it was ok.
Charcoal Grilled Norwegian Salmon Fillet. I actually ordered this -_- I don't really like to order fish, but most of the main courses I wanted were ordered by my cousins and I wanted to try other dish instead of taking the pork ribs again. My friend managed to persuade me to order this by saying they mixed some wine when they cook the salmon so it won't have the fish's smell. And according to her, it's also one of the favorite dish among her customers.
Guess what? The smell was still there!! T_T And grilled salmon as usual, after grilled, the meat will taste 'dry'. I don't really like it, but I think it's just me with the fish issue. Nothing wrong with the salmon. But I like the sauce though.
Chicken Chop with Mushroom Sauce. Tastes normal, nothing special about this dish.
Doni ordered the Charcoal Grilled Australian Rib Eye. Perfectly medium rare, not chewy and tastes great.
Signature BeerBQ Pork Ribs. Anny ordered this and she couldn't finish it due to the big portion. Distributed to the rest, haha. Still tastes as great as when I first ordered it.
Audrea ordered the BeerBQ Half Chicken. Same signature BeerBQ sauce as the pork ribs, but for me it tastes better with the pork ribs. And the chicken was a tad too dry for me.
And lastly, Adrena ordered the BeerBQ Beef Ribs. Huge chunks of beef ribs, with the same BeerBQ sauce as well. Again, for me the sauce is better with the pork ribs, but it was better than the chicken. Meat is very tender and flavorful.
BeerBQ Bistro is located at the left corner just next to Sushi Zento.
Nostalgie Cafe @ Stewart Lane
Spotted this place from The Star's paper and suggested it to my friends after lunch last weekend. Situated along the very narrow lane of Stewart Lane, it's not that hard to find. There is no big signboard so keep a look out for the small sign with the word "Nostalgie" stick to the brown wooden gate. You might want to park along Love Lane as there is no parking spot along that lane. I parked my car further down the lane near the Kuan Yin temple. Parking is kinda hard here, but then again, so are all the cafes around the heritage area.
Ordered the Cranberry with Longan. A tad too sweet to my liking, hehe. All of us were still full from our earlier lunch, we didn't ordered anything to eat. Well, next time maybe xD
Took quite a number of photos of the place. I like the interior and the ambiance. Really gives out that heritage kinda feel. Posted some here :D
The second floor is for homestay. Saw a few tourists staying there. The restroom on the second floor as well.
Spent a few hours here, just chilling and catching up with each other. Was tempted to order some snacks but was still very full from the lunch. Guess, there is always next time :)
