Laid Back Sunday...

Went over to QBM to catch a movie with AK yesterday. Watched Black Swan, not a bad movie, a bit slow in the beginning, but it picks up after 15 mins or so. The movie makes me realize it's not easy being a ballerina =x Not only hard work, but involves lots of dedications and commitments as well. If you into this suspense psychological kinda movie, then this is the movie just for you =)

We headed over to Austin Chase for a drink after the movie. My first visit there though it has been open for so long. Same goes for AK.

The counter.

I kinda like the lamps. Look a bit sophisticated, haha.

Lots of novels and magazines for reading pleasure. They provide some card and board games too.

Our Vanilla Latte and Caramel Latte.

I ordered the Chicken Ham Sandwich. Didn't have anything the whole day, and was a bit hungry.

Nothing much to say on the sandwich. Just some lettuces, tomatoes and ham. But the bread was a tad hard. Had a hard time trying to cut it -.-''

Played some UNO while we there.

Well, it's nice to just go out for a while after a hard and tiring days at work. Relax for a bit, good company, sums up a simple yet nice weekend :)

KoChaBi - Tawainese Restaurant

SY brought me to this place after bringing her dog to the vet last Thursday. Drove by the restaurant lots of time, but never once occurred to me to try the food there.

The exterior of the restaurant, very typical Chinese design.

A very red menu, screaming 'KoChaBi'!! =P

Part of the interior, didn't dare to snap too much of the place. Don't want to disturb the other customers.

I was very much attracted to this scarecrow like figure hanging at the wall. Somehow it just seemed to catch my attention, hmm...

Our milk tea, hot and cold.

Salty Chicken and Rice. I ordered this set. Nothing much to say about it. Looked normal, tasted normal. The fried chicken tasted almost the same as those Popcorn Chicken in KFC except much saltier and a tad spicier. Wouldn't say I like the set much.

Spicy Vegetarian Noodle. SY ordered this. Lots of vegetables and different kind of fish balls. Tried some, like the noodle but don't like the soup. It was spicy but I just don't like the smell of the soup.

Well, don't think I am going to dine here again, unless I happen to be tagging along with friends =x

First attempt at moon shooting

I was surfing through the net for settings, tips and tricks for taking good fireworks photos, when I came across this term 'set focus to infinity'. Saw the statement in almost every pages I read so I googled for the definition.

"It's meant for distant objects, where camera can't focus any longer just because of too long distance and also because at that long distance it's no longer any difference to change focus anymore."

Hmm... conclusion, setting the focus to infinity allows me to take sharp pictures of objects that are far away. Something popped in my head after I read that. Maybe I could test the setting by shooting the moon. I took out the camera and walked to the balcony. It was full moon last night, Chap Goh Mei night.

So I sat at the balcony, hoping no one would think I was a thief or anything, I started taking shots at the bright full moon. Trials and errors. Adjusted the setting here and there. First few tries were kinda bad. And finally I got 1 'good' shot. *good IMHO =P*

Tadah!~ My only good shot xD

QingHuan Chinese Tea House

Went out with SY last weekend to the Heritage Cultural Event near the jetty area. But due to the non-stop rain, we decided to skip the fireworks event and leave the place early. And SY led me to this place. Somewhere hidden in the Pulau Tikus area is this small chinese tea house. Situated along Lorong Kuching, it could or could not easily be missed. I missed it, but SY spotted it -.-

The interior of the tea house. Small, but nice and cozy. It even has tatami style seating.

Two round pink lantern lamps hanging near the entrance.

The tea set for our chinese tea. Not sure if they called it 'tea set' though -.-''

Not knowing how to make the tea, SY asked the lady which I think is the owner for guidance. She then showed us how to wash the tea set with hot water and how to wash the tea leaves as well. She was very pleasant and helpful, good service xD

Our tea set after 'washed'

This is used to 'scoop' the tea leaves and put them in the small brown teapot.

Boiling hot water in a kettle was prepared for us for self-refill.

SY and I ordered this 'Mee Sua Kor' for our late dinner. We just want to take something light as it was already late. It was not bad but I don't like that they already mixed in some vinegar in it before serving to us. Not a fan of vinegar, I normally don't have it with Mee Sua Kor.

A poh piah like snack food, recommended by the lady. Nice, but a tad oily.

Tea leaves in packets for sell.

It's a good place to just relax and hang out with friends while sipping some chinese tea. If they provide wifi, it would have been better =P

Kek Lok Si Temple CNY 2011

Finally, managed to get to Kek Lok Si Temple. My plan to visit the temple during last year CNY was canceled due to my unexpected car accident. So I made it a point to visit it this year. Went there on the fourth day of CNY and I brought myself a different 'model' xD

We reached there kinda early, around 6pm in the evening. Was afraid that it would jam and hard to find parking if go any later. Glad we did as it was very jam and pack by nightfall. We went straight up to the Guan Yin statue using the inclined life and wandered around till the lights were on. Of course we took some pictures while waiting xD

By the time we decided to go back, it was almost 10pm and both of us were hungry -.-'' Time sure flies quickly when you didn't realize it. We took over 200 photos and both of us were really tired. Pity my model, hahaha. Really appreciate her for coming with me and willing to be my model for the day xD

Well, here are some to share for viewing pleasure.

Hope you guys like them =D
