Ipoh Road Trip

Went to Ipoh with a friend on the second day of Chinese New Year. Unplanned road trip and I never been to Ipoh till that day. My friend on the other hand been there a few times but still not very familiar with the roads there. She insisted on going even after I told her I can't find a GPS -.-''

And that was how we ended up lost the whole morning, zzzz... We even reached this place.

Lost in the Lost World of Tambun @_@

After what seemed like ages of driving, we finally reached the town of Ipoh. I was already tired and frustrated by then, not to mention starving as well. We managed to find this dim sum restaurant. Was already almost 2pm when we get there. Luckily the place close at 3pm, if I remember correctly.

Kao Lee Dim Sum Restaurant, my friend told me it is quite a famous dim sum restaurant in that area.

Their signature dishes, which I didn't try any of them.

All the dim sum and noodle we ordered.

We asked for directions from one of the staff there. And off we went again after our very late brunch. This time we didn't get lost, thanks to the staff that gave us quite a detail directions. Getting there requires going through lots of turns in a housing estate. The cave is located off the main road and deep inside the housing estate.

And here we were, Kek Lok Tong Cave Temple (Cavern of Ultimate Bliss). Felt like eternity just to get here -.-

The big entrance of the cave into the temple.

A Guan Yin statue in the middle of a pond surrounded by huge Koi fishes.

A small waterfall just behind the Guan Yin statue.

Can't read Chinese, my guess is the words read as "Kek Lok Tong" =P

Miniature buildings are placed along the stairs up to the entrance.

Magnificent and beautiful stalagmites and stalactites in the limestone cave.

Buddha Statues deep inside the cave. Cool wind blowing into the cave, just smoothing xD

The end of the cave leads to another opening. And I was amazed by the sight. Behold, the beautiful Garden of Eden.

Stairs leading to the garden.

The big lake in the garden.

Wouldn't mind going there again if I can still remember the way, but the place is worth getting lost for.
