Went out with SY last weekend to the Heritage Cultural Event near the jetty area. But due to the non-stop rain, we decided to skip the fireworks event and leave the place early. And SY led me to this place. Somewhere hidden in the Pulau Tikus area is this small chinese tea house. Situated along Lorong Kuching, it could or could not easily be missed. I missed it, but SY spotted it -.-
The interior of the tea house. Small, but nice and cozy. It even has tatami style seating.
Two round pink lantern lamps hanging near the entrance.
The tea set for our chinese tea. Not sure if they called it 'tea set' though -.-''
Not knowing how to make the tea, SY asked the lady which I think is the owner for guidance. She then showed us how to wash the tea set with hot water and how to wash the tea leaves as well. She was very pleasant and helpful, good service xD
Our tea set after 'washed'
This is used to 'scoop' the tea leaves and put them in the small brown teapot.
Boiling hot water in a kettle was prepared for us for self-refill.
SY and I ordered this 'Mee Sua Kor' for our late dinner. We just want to take something light as it was already late. It was not bad but I don't like that they already mixed in some vinegar in it before serving to us. Not a fan of vinegar, I normally don't have it with Mee Sua Kor.
A poh piah like snack food, recommended by the lady. Nice, but a tad oily.
Tea leaves in packets for sell.
It's a good place to just relax and hang out with friends while sipping some chinese tea. If they provide wifi, it would have been better =P
