Clannad クラナド

Synopsis
Adaption of the renowned visual novel by Visual Art's/Key.

Clannad is set in a high-school located in some Japanese town. Okazaki Tomoya is a third-year student who doesn't take his studies seriously. Always late for class, he's seen as a delinquent by the rest of his classmates who are busy preparing for their entrance examinations. Needless to say, he does not have too many close friends either.

Tomoya seems not to mind too - until one day he meets a girl, Furukawa Nagisa, who is left alone without friends in the school because everybody she knew already graduated. "What a clumsy girl," he thinks at first. But he can't leave her alone and so, while helping her, he meets a few other girls from his school. Although he doesn't care much about them at first, he soon opens his heart to them as they get to know each other better. - taken from http://anidb.net

Clannad's main characters

Reviews
Clannad is the fourth adaptation of a Key game and a collaboration Kyoto Animation and Key. Unlike Key's previous titles which were based on magical realism, Clannad is more like a high school drama. The story begin when Tomoya met Nagisa on his way to school one day, but it is Nagisa's dream to perform on stage during the school festival which become the main plot of the story.

The first few episodes can be a bit complex and hard to understand, but after a few more episodes, the story begin to unfold itself. Like in most anime, the story is somewhat harem but in a good way and not too over. The jokes mostly in a sarcastic manner actually help the series as it goes along. Each of the storyline in the series is very meaningful in its own way and the dramatic scenes are very touching at times.

But as much as I enjoyed watching it, I found the ending is missing some pieces. The first storyline of the series somewhat lost it purpose towards the ending, which is kinda disappointing for me as I actually cried a bit when I watched it *shy* I really want to know what happen to the girl in the end =\ And the 'dream' scenes in the series, doesn't seem to have any meaning even till the end of the series =.= I was hoping that it would unfold itself in the last episode but it didn't. But despite all that, the ending is actually a happy one.

The animation for this anime is actually good. One of the best in all the anime I watched. I especially like the scene where the sakura falls, simply lovely XD

Overall, I would recommend this anime to any anime fans or any high school drama anime fan. Putting the not-so-good-and-disappointing ending aside, Clannad is an enjoyable anime series to watch through.

flow of memories

Which part of your life will you go back to if you are given the change to go back to your past once and still retaining all the memories you have? A friend asked me this question a long time ago. Something we chatted about in messenger during work reminded me about the question he asked and the answer I gave him.

When he asked that question, I found myself having no problem in finding the answer. A lot had happened in my past but there is only one point where I would want to return to. The point where it changed my life a lot and is still changing it. That point never lasted very long, but it is the part of my life which I would never want to forget. The point I will always cherish till my dying days.

And that's the point where I would want to return to. Even when I know that it won't last, even when I know what the outcome would be, it would still be the part of my life that I will always want to return to. And because I know that fact, I would make the most out of it.

Well, it may seems like a stupid decision to make for others. But to me, my whole life revolves around that stupid decision

What about you guys? Which point of your life would you want to go back to? But one thing for sure all of us have in common is, we all have our reason for the decision we make.

seeing things?

I just got back from my cousin's place. Went there to watch American Idol, but I got stucked there till late at night. Was helping my cousin to format her hardisk and burned some of my anime out at the same time.

On my way back just now, after I drove past Sunshine Farlim Hypermarket, I saw a guy wearing a white t-shirt standing in the middle of the road. I thought he was trying to cross the road so I didn't gave it much of a thought. But after I looked down a while to adjust the volumn on my radio and looked back up, he was gone -.-'' Maybe he has crossed the road I thought, so I looked at the other side. There is no one there, =.=!! No one could have disappeared that fast unless he is some bionic man. Maybe I was seeing or imagining things. If I was, that guy sure looked pretty real to me.

I tried not to think about it, and drove back home listening to the song in my car. Luckily, I was nearing my house at that time. Taking the lift alone just now was pretty scary, the way up to the 6th floor somehow seems longer than usual. I walked to my unit and went inside as fast as I could. And now here I am, blogging about it, blek.

I guess I was a little carried away back then, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't scare. Anyway, it's time for me to sleep now. Almost 2am and I still got work later. Need to wake up at 5.30am, ughh... And sleep can prevent me from 'luan luan' think.

Nite peepz~

Earth Day

Today is Earth Day. Earth Day is held to inspire awareness of and appreciation for the Earth's environment - quote from Wikipedia. It is a day when we can all learn more about our planet and how to take care of it. I'm not very sure if this event is practise a lot in Malaysia but in the USA, it is a big and important event. Even Google changed the main picture in their website. My friend wrote something about global warming a few days back and he even include a mini guide on how to fold a plastic bag. Anyone interested in learning how to fold a plastic bag, can check out his blog here

Google's Earth Day

To be frank, I didn't even know there is such a thing as Earth Day. *shy**shy* My bad =x Anyway, was supposed to wear green to work today. This morning I searched my whole collection of clothes for something green. And the only greenie I found is my one and only green khakis which I actually forgot that I have it. Hmm, decided to wear that, but only to realize that it was 2 - 3 size bigger!! o.O Did the khakis grew bigger due to washing or did I actually lose that much weight? I ended up can't wear that to work. Since I don't any more green clothes, I looked for something which has the most green color on it, blek. Well, it's better than nothing I guess.

When I reached work, I thought it would be full of little green people. But instead, only a minority wore green. Cheh, wasted my time looking for a green shirt to wear. There were some activites held in conjuction with Earth Day, but I didn't participate in any of them. The day passed by like any normal boring working days, or so I thought.

I was walking towards the stairs, eager to go back home when I saw a lady in front of me. She was wearing green all over. Striking green baby-T, dark green skirt and green shoe. If that was not horrified enough, as she walked passed me I notice that she was also wearing green earring, green necklace and green bangle -.-''

Now that is something you don't get to see everyday. I know maybe she's trying to show her support by wearing all green but even so, there is a limit or to an extend where you won't be a laughing stock or end up embarassing youself in front of others. Or maybe she was just trying to get some attention from others. If she was, she sure got mine.

don't wake me again...zzz

I was already asleep just now till I was awake by some loud knocks on my door. Went to open it, my landlady stood there. She handed me a bunch of keys, told me something about borrowing the keys from my friend just now, and now returning them to her. I just nodded, took the key, closed the door. And then I stood there for a while, trying to process what just happened. Still half awake, and the keys still in my hand, my head was thinking like "Friend, what friend?"

It wasn't after a while till I realize something. Wei, I stay alone in my room la. Apa friend and whose keys are these anyway? zzz... Was almost fully awake by then. I went out from my room, trying to avoid being seen by the landlady I passed back the keys to the maid.

I headed back to my room, straight to my bed, decided to get back to sleep while I can still the sleepiness in my head. Was about to fall asleep when suddenly...

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!... *ARGH!!*

zzz... I ignored them initially, hoping she would stop knocking and go away. But NO, she kept on knocking like nobody business.

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

Since when an 84 year old lady is that persistent, =\ Ughh, annoyed I got up and opened the door. She asked me if she handed me the correct keys -.-'' I nodded my head and closed back the door. Prayed that she won't knock on my door again, I tried to sleep. But since I am blogging about this right now, the latter didn't work. Hate it whenever it happened.

Anyway, feeling sleepy again. I am going back to bed.

*po pi po pi, mai knock on my door liao*

Tomorrow is Earth Day, need to wear green at work. Don't think I got any green clothes. Anyway, ignore first, sleep now, think later. Good nite everyone

fate or destiny

I actually wanted to blog about this 2 weeks ago. But I kinda forgot or lazy when I remember, and then forgot again, lazy.... you got the idea. 2 weeks ago, I woke up with this 1 question in my head. Don't ask me how, I don't know myself either =x

Well, the question was is fate and destiny the same thing? The first thing that came into my mind was, why the hell did I think of fate and destiny straight after I just woke up? I don't recalled having any dream. Weird =.=''

Anyway, I asked my friend about it at work. I actually copy his answer so I won't write anything wrong =P I asked him what is the difference between fate and destiny. Those were his answer.

"destiny is something u need to achieve i guess"

"fate is what u or others think a certain situation will become"

As for me, I thought destiny and fate has almost the similar meaning but not really the same. Ok, I don't even know what I am talking about now. Anyway I decided to check for the meaning from the net.

Thus, I search for th meaning in dictionary.com, and these are what I get.

Destiny
1. something that is to happen or has happened to a particular person or thing; lot or fortune.
2. the predetermined, usually inevitable or irresistible, course of events.
3. the power or agency that determines the course of events.
4. (initial capital letter) this power personified or represented as a goddess.
5. the Destinies, the Fates.

—Synonyms 1. fate, karma, kismet. 2. future.

Fate
1. something that unavoidably befalls a person; fortune; lot: It is always his fate to be left behind.
2. the universal principle or ultimate agency by which the order of things is presumably prescribed; the decreed cause of events; time: Fate decreed that they would never meet again.
3. that which is inevitably predetermined; destiny: Death is our ineluctable fate.
4. a prophetic declaration of what must be: The oracle pronounced their fate.
5. death, destruction, or ruin.
6. the Fates, Classical Mythology. the three goddesses of destiny, known to the Greeks as the Moerae and to the Romans as the Parcae.

Hmmm... fate = destiny and destiny = fate? o.O I always thought there is a fair thin line between destiny and fate. Feeling unsatisfied with the answer I got, I decided to check in wikipedia.

Destiny refers to a predetermined course of events. It may be conceived as a predetermined future, whether in general or of an individual. It is a concept based on the belief that there is a fixed natural order to the universe. Destiny may be seen either as a fixed sequence of events that is inevitable and unchangeable, or that individuals choose their own destiny by choosing different paths throughout their life.

Ok, so that is destiny. Next I typed in fate.

Fate is destiny, an inevitable course of events.

madness combo

I was sleeping just now. Been sleeping since 6pm yesterday. It was a very nice sleep till my cousin decided to sms me and woke me up, zzz. And in her sms she stated that she did something that is going to make me mad. She accidentaly scrolled the Impaler I lend her, 1 failed, 1 passed, zzz. Before scrolled never checked properly wan meh?!?! God knows how long I hunted for maple equipment during the events and that is the ONLY Impaler (not to mentioned it is overstat) I got WITHOUT the date. ROAR!!

Hell ya, I'm freaking mad now. First she sms me at 3am and woke me up. Unless it is something urgent or important, it made me mad. Then she told me she scrolled my Impaler, double the madness. And now I can't sleep. Hate it everytimes that happens. Ughh... triple the madness. Who would have guess she landed a combo on madness, zzz...

Going to lay down on my bed again till I finally fall asleep, hopefully. If not, I guess I just watch some anime. Nitez peeps...

sunsets....

lazy sunset

The picture above is something I made few months back, July last year to be exact. Spent lots of time editing it. Love it a lot (ok, i know it's my own creation =P), it looks somewhat relaxing, serene and so carefree. Hopes and dreams far beyond the horizon awaiting to be grasped, bright future ahead. Haih, if only in reality, life could be less stressing. I posted this picture in my Friendster's blog, but just thought I post it here again for old time sake =D

watching sunset by the beach

This photo was taken during TK's birthday last year. We celebrated his birthday bbq-ing by the beach. It has been quite a while since I last went to the beach. I think that was the last time I went there. We decided to re-create back the scene which I made. Thus, that was how this photo came about. We took a few shots, and this is the best of all. Not bad at all, isn't it? =D

It sure bring back lots of memories...

stupid error!!

Am at work now. Came early to check on the macro I leave running before I went back yesterday. Reached work around 7.15am. Decided to get a bread and a cup of milo for breakfast as I felt my tummy was kinda empty after yesterday unfortunate ordeal.

As I was eating my bread, I logged into the terminal server to check my work silently praying that no error would occur. But I guess my prayer wasn't answer as I saw the same dreadful error I encountered for the past couple of weeks appeared in front of me soon after I logged into the server.

"Not Enough Space in Temporary Space"

The same error kept appearing and appearing till I see liao also sien, zzz.. I tried google for solutions but came out with no result. Not excatly no results, there were lots of results, just when I tried applying it to my case, it didn't work. My friend helped me found a solution which I had to increase the MaxLocksPerFile value from the dafault 9500. I did found the same solutions in few different forums, but since I have limited permission in the terminal server, I can't make the changes myself. So I requested help from the IT department in charge of the server. He was reluctanted to change the value for me at first, but he later increase it for me, only to 15,000 though. Most of the forums stated to increased to 200,000 -.-'' but I gave it a try anyway. Same result, same error, grrrr...

I discussed the matter with my collegue, and he suggested to break the query into few smaller queries. And that is what I been doing for the past two weeks =\ (not incuded the time when my workstation's motherboard burnt and I have to redo one of my report) After breaking the queries in two parts, I still have the same error in my second query -.- The first query was ok, luckily. So now I need to break the second query, zzz... sien-ness....

Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone encounter the same problem before. If yes, what solution did you use? Anyone care to enlighten me? Am siao-ing from the error, =x

aya~ aye~ land ahoy!~

I just finished patched my MapleStory 2 days ago. I am interested in the new Pirate King quest. Well, at least it's something new. So last night I decided to give it a go, and I really really want that pirate hat XD

The level requirement is between level 70 and level 100. Great, I can't use my Night Lord for that quest. Luckily my priest is still below level 100, decided to use that. My priest was still at Victoria Island, need to bring her to Mu Lung town. So off I went, first took the ship to orbis then the stork to Mu Lung town. I like flying in the stork. It's very very cute and the only way I can fly like those babies in cartoon =P

Don't ya think it's just so cute, F3

Reached Mu Lung, safe and sound, blek. Helped my party members transfered some items and equitments. Then off we went, to the pirate's ship. When we reached our destination, 3 of us actually don't know what to do, lolz. As it's a new quest and it was our first time at the quest, so we were actually noob at it. Anyway, we decided to give it a shot.

First attempt, we only passed till the third stage. The times run out while I was collecting the Veteren's Emblems. Second attempt, we reached the stage where we need to lock the door to stop the pirates from swarming out endlessly. We got the keys, but we don't know what to do with them, swt. I tried going in the doors, portal but all can't work. Then I decided to try dropping the keys in front of the open door. But it was hard to drop the key, as the pirates kept banging into me. In the end, time run out and we were teleported out.

Third and final attempt as 2 of us need to work the next day, we got the hang of the first few stages and managed to complete them quicker than before. We reached the stage where we need to lock the door, and I once again tried to drop the key in front of the open door, but failed. I got fed up and asked one of my party member to Dark Sight and drop the key. And it worked!! Should have thought of that earlier, zzz... We finally completed that stage and continued into the next stage.

And guess what? We reached the so called Pirate King's stage. We need to rescue the 'walking ginger' which was held hostage by the pirate king. And yes, instead of rescuing some damzel in distress, we need to rescue some ginger in distress =.=

Ginger in distress being held hostage by nasty old pirate kind

Disappointedly the pirate king was very easy to kill despite we had to re-do the quest 3 times before we end up fighting him. Yay!~ We completed the quest. Now it's time for our reward, the PIRATE HAT. We went out from that area to go to the next map. And just when we thought we can claim our reward, we CAN'T!!! We need to complete the quest 50 TIMES before we can get the pirate hat. ROAR!!! So much for our so called victory =.=

Besides the disappointment, I was actually too tired and sleepy to feel anything else. After, helping my friend transfered back all her equipments I popped straight into bed and sleep like a 'balak' till the next morning.

Going for the quest again tonight. Maybe I can get better screen shots of the entire stages of the quest. If I remember, lalala~~

tummy aching day

Ugh!! Tummy been aching whole day. Went to the toilet 4 times today. Feeling a bit better now but still aching a bit. Can't wait for 5pm so I can go back. I know, I know, I should be working, but everyone need a break once in a while. Even my friend been 'away' snaking for almost an hour now, blek.

Aisk, he is back and IM me now just as I am typing this, asking me something about transexual -.-'' Anyway, 10 more minutes to go I will be free.... free as a bird... for today of course.

I better stop now, before my manager sees me =P~

What About Now?

After editing some stuffs from my previous posts, now I am too lazy to blog something. I actually got something to blog about, but I'll guess I just write about it tomorrow. Am quite tired too tonight. I'll end this post with a song I heard from American Idol: Idols Give Back on Thursday night. The song is quite outdated though, but I kinda like it after I heard it the first time. After I read the lyric, like it even more ^^

Chris Daughtry - What About Now

Shadows fill an empty heart
As love is fading,
From all the things that we are
But are not saying.
Can we see beyond the scars
And make it to the dawn?

Change the colors of the sky.
And open up to
The ways you made me feel alive,
The ways I loved you.
For all the things that never died,
To make it through the night,
Love will find you.

What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?
Baby, before it's too late,
What about now?

The sun is breaking in your eyes
To start a new day.
This broken heart can still survive
With a touch of your grace.
Shadows fade into the light.
I am by your side,
Where love will find you.

What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love, it never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?
Baby, before it's too late,
What about now?

Now that we're here,
Now that we've come this far,
Just hold on.
There is nothing to fear,
For I am right beside you.
For all my life,
I am yours.

What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?

What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?
Baby, before it's too late,
Baby, before it's too late,
Baby, before it's too late,
What about now?

Tang Yuen

Went to eat tang yuen just now with my cousins. Just came back and still at their house =P Wanted to blog it before I actually forgot about it when I reach back home later. And funny though, this afternoon at work I told my friend in messenger that I got this craving for tang yuen and I ended up eating it tonight ^^

Ok enough ranting. When we went there, we were not very sure where it is. Just based from the simple map I got from the e-mail we went hunting for this HK Tang Yuen shop. When we found it, we were surprised that it is only a small stall open at some coffee shop. Initially we thought it was some big shop like those dessert shops you found in KL.

The Tang Yuen 'stall'

The menu (not really that much choices)

Well, since there were 3 of us, each of us each order 1 type of the HK Tang Yuen, not the normal of course. And I was tempted by the marshmallow cake? so I ordered that too. Not sure what is the correct translation for it.

The marshmallow was served first. It was nice, I quite like it, smooth, soft and not too sweet.

Marshmallow Cake? o.O

After a while, all our tang yuen were served. 3 different types of soup (soya bean, red bean and ginger) but all with the same types of tang yuen. 2 big tang yuen (inside is black sesame paste and peanuts fillings) and several small ones (normal one la). I tried all 3 soups of course =P. All of them were ok la, not really that special but they were not bad. Not too sweet. I thought the soya bean was a bit bland though but one of my cousin like it.

Red Bean Soup (black sesame filling)

Soya Bean Soup (Peanuts filling)

Ginger Soup Tang Yuen

After we finished all our tang yuen I was tempted to try the fruits jelly. So I ordered it, blek. When I ate it, it somehow reminded me of the dessert you get when you order the bake cheese rice set meal in Kim Gary. It was kept cool enough that when I swallowed it I can feel the coolness slided inside my throat, but that was it o.o

Fruits Jelly (peach, raspberry, no idea, blek )

my cousin curi took this pic of the
uncle preparing the tang yuen

Overall, it was ok la, average, not something I would shout or jump about. Anyone interested can go and try it. It's somewhere at Perak Road after the bomba building. It's a small stall though, so better slow down and keep an eye out for it.

My birthday at Tao Cuisine & Lounge

Celebrated my birthday with the rest of the gang at Tao Cuisine & Lounge at Autocity, Juru. I made a reservation a few days earlier as my birthday fell on a Friday. I planned to start driving there early as Friday is always jam on the way to Butterworth especially on the Penang Bridge. But since we still need to wait for a friend who was working late and coming back from Butterworth =.='', so our journey was delayed by a bit.

We started out at 7.30pm. And it was jam like hell. Stucked at the penang bridge, my car barely moved, zzz...

Just look at the jam, memper-swt-kan -.-''

As I was swt-ing and my ankle was aching due to frequent gear changing, somehow my friends managed to entertain themselves despite the slow and boring jam.

Camwhoring themselves during the jam @_@

After we reached like 3/4 of the bridge, we saw a small lorry, broke down at the side. And straight after we drove passed the lorry, miraclesly the jam subsided. Well, so much for the famous Malaysian's culture =_=

The rest of the journey was smooth driving, and we reached our destination around 8.45pm. Quickly parked the car and quickly walked to Tao. Alright, this part onwards I'll let the photos do the talking. *Actually am lazy to write and my friend kept luan me at msn =P*

PS: I forgot most of the names for the food, so please bear with me ^.^v

Table setting with and without the models XD

Clockwise: Unagi, chawamushi, tom yam soup & something,
can't remember wad this call =P

Clockwise: Some fish, salmon skins, some other fish, salmon

Cloclwise: Salmon with papaya, abalone,
can't remember for both bottom pics

Clockwise: Lamb chop?, err..., Pistachio ice cream, greedy Joyce

Da Toilet~~ unique isn't it? ^^

Tao, cuisine & lounge

Finally, finished editing and upload most of the pics. Oh ya, almost forgot. My birthday present ^^

Jay's world tour CD + DVD

Got a Jay's world tour CD + DVD for my present. Not excatly what I wanted but it's ok, I like Jay. What I excatly wanted was just a birthday cake, but didn't have it this year. Never had it last year either or the year before last. Can't remember the last time I felt blowing candles and making wish. Lame I know, but somehow I just like it. We only got like 1 chance a year to blow candles and make a wish on our special day. Was actually very sad when I don't have a birthday cake that night, but oh well, I can't expect too much can I? At least I still have friends to celebrate with me. That is what matter the most =D

Mizi Bistro

Went to Mizi Bistro at New World Park with my cousin and her friend a couple of weeks ago. It was a early birthday treat from them. I wanted to try the food there for sometimes now. Went there once with my friends, but the place was full. So this time we tried to get there as early as possible. Reached around 8pm, the place was already half full but luckily there was a table at the back just perfect for the 3 of us.

Since it were the first time the 3 of us dine there, we actually took our time choosing our food. Well, couldn't help it, as the name of the food is too complicated for us to comprehend. And because my brain was trying to understand the menu, I actually forgot to take a picture of the menu =.=

Anyway, after I guess 15 minutes or so =P, we decided on the dinner set and each choose something differ from each other. The set include soup, main course, dessert and drink, all those for only RM19.90, decent price =D

Our drinks arrived first. Then our soup just after our drinks.

Top : Onion Soup, left: Chicken Cream Soup, right: Mushroom Soup

While we were enjoying and testing each other soups, our main course arrived. Yay! I was already starving by then =P

All of us decided on the fish that night.

Fillet Fish - Monte Carlo

Fillet Fish - Lady Astor

My choice : Fillet Fish - Caprice

The food is actually not bad. The sauce is creamy and nice but the veggies is too bland to my liking. I kept shaking more salt and pepper into mine. But I don't really eat veggies either so better don't take my word for it =P

After we finished our main course, we sat and talked for quite a while. Or maybe it was too long that we actually forgot that we still have dessert. They serve ice-cream for dessert and it is self service. By the time I get to the dessert section, all the ice-cream had turned into cream =.=

I tried to scoop the flavour that still had the ice-cream 'look'. Wanted to add some melted chocolate but there was none left except for a few empty bottles. So I ended up adding the colourful-thingy-whatever-it-is-called and headed back to my table. Didn't really like it and didn't even take a picture of it as it was too ugly looking. My cousin and her friend actually managed to scoop quite a big portion of the ice-cream and actually enjoyed it.

Overall, I don't mind coming back the second time. The food is nice, the price is ok only complain is the melty ice-cream. And might tend to feel full after just eating half of your main course. Might be from the creamy sauce, but can always opt for something with less creamier sauce. And best if make a reservation else come early.

Took this pic when it was already closed

first post

It's been a while since I last blog. Used to blog at friendster but the limitations of what the blog can do get into my nerve. I can't even change the template. So I got tired of the dull looking blog and eventually stop me from blogging. Ok, maybe that's an excuse for me being too lazy to update but hey, being greeted by my own very dull looking blog also contributed to my laziness =P

Ok, that aside, this is going to be a whole new blog. Not sure of what I'm going to blog in here, but anything is fine, as long as it can be shared, it's always fine =D

So, adious for now.
