Tang Yuen

Went to eat tang yuen just now with my cousins. Just came back and still at their house =P Wanted to blog it before I actually forgot about it when I reach back home later. And funny though, this afternoon at work I told my friend in messenger that I got this craving for tang yuen and I ended up eating it tonight ^^

Ok enough ranting. When we went there, we were not very sure where it is. Just based from the simple map I got from the e-mail we went hunting for this HK Tang Yuen shop. When we found it, we were surprised that it is only a small stall open at some coffee shop. Initially we thought it was some big shop like those dessert shops you found in KL.

The menu (not really that much choices)

Well, since there were 3 of us, each of us each order 1 type of the HK Tang Yuen, not the normal of course. And I was tempted by the marshmallow cake? so I ordered that too. Not sure what is the correct translation for it.

The marshmallow was served first. It was nice, I quite like it, smooth, soft and not too sweet.

Marshmallow Cake? o.O

After a while, all our tang yuen were served. 3 different types of soup (soya bean, red bean and ginger) but all with the same types of tang yuen. 2 big tang yuen (inside is black sesame paste and peanuts fillings) and several small ones (normal one la). I tried all 3 soups of course =P. All of them were ok la, not really that special but they were not bad. Not too sweet. I thought the soya bean was a bit bland though but one of my cousin like it.

After we finished all our tang yuen I was tempted to try the fruits jelly. So I ordered it, blek. When I ate it, it somehow reminded me of the dessert you get when you order the bake cheese rice set meal in Kim Gary. It was kept cool enough that when I swallowed it I can feel the coolness slided inside my throat, but that was it o.o

Fruits Jelly (peach, raspberry, no idea, blek )

Overall, it was ok la, average, not something I would shout or jump about. Anyone interested can go and try it. It's somewhere at Perak Road after the bomba building. It's a small stall though, so better slow down and keep an eye out for it.
