CAB Western Food @ Farlim

Had lunch with my cousin a couple of weeks back. There this new cafe, *well actually not that new* in Farlim which I been wanting to try. The cafe serves western food and cousins been raving just how nice the food is with reasonable price.

Interior of the cafe.

Can't remember what my cousin ordered. Think it was grape or blueberry yogurt. I ordered the jumbo size honeydew juice. It was meant for 2 person but I finished the whole glass myself. Yeah, was very thirsty that day xD

Hawaiian Fish. Very big piece of fish and very generous on the sauce.

My Chicken and Lamb Combo. Both chicken and lamb tasted just mediocre for me. And I don't like the side dishes. I hate peas =\ Though some people might like it. But I have to agree the price is reasonable for the portion served.

Chai Diam Ma @ Queen Street

Found another album while 'spring cleaning' my hard drive. Was here last August for a short rest and drink. My friend and I were hunting for the metal sculptures around the area and it was getting too hot.

The main entrance, just opposite the back door of The Star's building.

The first thing I saw upon entering the shop is this crayon artwork, hanging at the top.

"One person's craziness is another person's reality" written on our table.

If I remember correctly, I oredered the Ice Mocha and my friend ordered the Ice Tomato Juice.

The cat is DA BOSS!!

Customers are not allow to take pose with the handicrafts that are on sale but we are allow to just photograph the handicrafts. Well, fair enough, no buying, no posing :)

An old broken refrigerator, recycled into a 'bookshelves'

And lastly, DA BOSS!! sleeping very soundly in his territory.

43 Cafe @ Jalan Sg. Dua

I almost forgot about this place till my friend mentioned it again few days back. I was here with my cousins and friend somewhere in August. My photos were already cover in dust somewhere at the corner of my folders, blek...

This cafe is along Jalan Sg Dua, where the stretch of terrace houses are. There is no signboard but it won't be hard to find as 43 Cafe is the corner house.
Take away available too.

Tomato Plum Juice, made of 100% tomato juice without additional water and sugar. Not a veggie drink lover, surprisingly I like it.

Tomato Plum Juice, Ice Lemon Tea and Milo Ice.

Nom nom nom (Homemade Satay). Rm1 per stick. We ordered 8 sticks, 2 sticks for each of us. These are good. Not like the normal satay, these have very strong flavor.

Soup of the Day. I forgot what soup this was but I remember the taste was bland. No MSG was added but I kinda spoil the healthy soup by adding lots of salts in it =P

Our Homemade Pork Burgers

BBQ Sauce Pork Burger

Black Pepper Sauce Pork Burger (double patties)

Original Homemade Pork Burger (double patties)

The meat patty are blanketed by some lettuces, tomatoes, onions, cheese and a spread of mayonnaise. Cheese, bacon and patty can be added on with some extra cost. Might be visiting this place again soon to t
ry thecah Toast and of course, another pork burger xD

Hokkaido Cake @ Butter & Olive Pastry House

While everyone else was having mooncake last Sunday during the Mid-Autumn Festival, my cousins and I were having Hokkaido Cake xD We drove all the way to Perak Road just to get them.

RM15 per box (6 pieces). Not cheap =x

Vanilla Hokkaido Cake. There were Hazelnut flavor too for RM15.50 per box.

Light, fluffy and the vanilla cream is just the right sweetness. They have to be eaten chilled or they wouldn't be that nice.

I also bought this black and white checker swiss roll. I can't remember the actual name for it but it's actually bamboo and cheese. Tasted not bad, I kinda like it hehe. There were a wide variety of swiss rolls available and of course some other pastries as well. Might pay this place a second visit xD

Otwo Leaf Cafe @ Jalan Perak

My friend saw this new cafe published in the newspaper and suggested it when we were out for dinner. Not very hard to find, it is just opposite Hope Children Hospital along Jalan Perak.

"Tech Life With Simple Coffee" as their tagline, almost all tables were equip with an Android tablet.

We sat on the second floor. The cafe is very spacious and bright. Simple design with a little bit of modern touch. Quite nice.

The Android tablet on our table. Free wifi provided by the cafe. They have their menu as an apps too but it was still not working then.

Soya sauce, salt and pepper are put in test tubes. Creative but not very practical. Not easy to pour soya sauce or salt out from the test tubes.

Our drinks. Lemon Blended and Peach Blended. My Lemon Blended had a bit of vanilla taste in it. Think they add in some vanilla ice-cream and blend together with the lemon. Not bad, I like it :)

Both of us ordered the Dinner Set, which comes with soup, a main course and dessert. Drinks not included.

Seriously, I don't know what soup this is. Initially I thought it was pumpkin soup, but I didn't taste any pumpkin. And the soup was cold!! I don't like cold soup when it's supposed to be served hot.

Grilled Mushroom Chicken. Small portion and the mushroom sauce is almost bland. I had to put some salt in.

Grilled Black Pepper Chicken. Friend's comment: "ok"

And lastly, ice-cream for dessert. Nothing special here.

The food are just mediocre for me, but the price are somewhat reasonable. Might be back again next time to try the coffee.

Sushi Tei @ Gurney Plaza

Had a quick dinner with my friend at Sushi Tei the other night. First time here ever since it opened in Gurney Plaza. We sat at the counter, near the entrance. Inside were packed and almost full.

We just ordered the ala carte and didn't even grab anything from the kaiten belt.

Green tea to go with our meals.

Hotate Tamago Don. I ordered this. Very fragrant but the taste was just average for me. Despite saying that, they were very generous on the big scallops.

Ishiyaki Soba Chicken. My friend ordered this from the monthly special promotion. She commented it was nice albeit the portion looked small to me :)

Saw a few dishes in the menu which kinda interest me. Might pay this place a second visit =D

Ocean Green Seafood Restaurant

When I first heard of this place, I didn't even know the existence of this restaurant. Was invited to a dinner with the rest of the team and also the users from other countries in Asia Pacific. They were here for a training conducted by one of our department and I had to was involved as well.

My big boss suggested this restaurant. Even my German boss dined here a few times -.- It's an alfresco style restaurant and exactly next to the beach. I walked out to the beach to take some photos. Small beach but kinda dirty though =\

Next up, food photos xD Some of the photos are blur though, as I need to quickly take them.

One of the managers was in charge of ordering the dishes as she been here for a few times.

First dish was sorta of an appetizers. Satay Chicken. The satay meats were marinated and coated with their special sauce, so no peanuts curry were provided.

Spinach in Peanuts and Scallops Soup. Like the soup. Very flavorful.

Fried Soft Tofu.

Fried Mee Tiao. Lots of prawns.

Spring Chickens

Deep Fried Fresh Prawns

Steamed Fish Teochew Style

Steamed Fish in Curry Gravy. Not very sure if this was curry or tom yam, the manager said she ordered for curry gravy but somehow it looked and tasted like tom yam =P

Scallops with Mixed Veggies.

And last dish of the night, one of the restaurant's specialties. Cheese Baked Crabs. Too salty for me, maybe cause of the cheese. Each of us got one and it's not cheap for a small crab. Burned a hole in another manager's pocket, hahaha.

Overall, it was a pleasant dinner with good food and nice company.
