Passed by this place numerous times, but never got the chance to dine in. Till one day my friend told me about the offer they advertised in LivingSocial, and we bought the vouchers :D
The same owner as Behind 50 @ Love Lane, Kwong Sang House also adapts the same semi cafe kinda concept. Used to be a tailor shop, Kwong Sang House incorporates that environment in its cafe. Which is why there is an old sewing machine just near the entrance.
Our choices of drinks, mine was Sour Plum and I can't remember what my friend's was. I later on looked back at the offer on LivingSocial *few weeks after our dined in*, the drinks supposed to be Ice Lemon Tea or Earl Grey Tea. Wondered why the changes, maybe they run out of lemon and earl grey =P
My fried opted for the salad. Looked fresh albeit my friend didn't like the small tomatoes.
As usual, I chose the Soup of the Day with Garlic Bread. The mushroom was kinda bland, still prefer the one they serve at Behind 50.
The Chicken Gordon Blue was quite a big piece. Tasted not bad but the chili sauce around the chicken was a bit too much and it covered the taste of the chicken.
White Tuna Fish Steak. I don't normally ordered fish as I don't like the smell. But since my friend had order the chicken and I didn't want to order pasta, I was left with only 2 choices of fish. Its either the Salmon or the Tuna, I opted for the latter. And as I feared, I could smell the fishy smell, ughh... I covered the meat with as much of the yellow sauce as I possibly could. Apart from the smell, the fish was a bit dry, but tasted ok. The yellow sauce was sourish which I had no idea what it was, hehe
Our dessert, one scoop of vanilla ice-cream, splashed with some chocolate sauce, sprinkled with some chocolate powder and topped with a mini flower shaped marshmallow. Nothing special on the dessert, but since I was checking back the offer, I also just noticed the dessert is supposed to be fruits. I guess they ran out of fruits as well, blek.
I didn't really take much photos that day. But here are some to share.
View from inside the cafe looking out.
The sewing machine near the entrance. Makes me wonder if this was pass down to them by the tailor shop or they for it from somewhere else. Hmm...
Rows of clothes. My guess is these are leftover from the tailor shop.
Initially thought this is pocket watch, but after a closer look, it doesn't look like one. Any idea what it is? o.O
There is a mini library on the second floor. Was only aware of it after I took this photo -.- Should go up the next time I dine here again, hehe
