Was on my way to work as usual this morning when the accident happened. It was jam, as usual and I was driving on the middle lane. The car in front of me stops and I followed suit. I looked into my rear view mirror and saw a white kancil heading towards my car in a quite a fast pace. Judging from the speed the driver was driving, I don’t think he was going to stop anytime soon. And there is nothing I can do about it.
This was the part which I actually hate. Knowing the fact that something bad is going to happen, but was left with no option to avoid it. I can’t move to the front because the car in front of me was still static and there were lots of cars on the right and left lanes. So I just watched the car from my rear view mirror till it came nearer and nearer and BANG!! I was shock from the loud bang and strong impact, though I was ready for it. I didn’t expect it to be that loud -.-‘’ And I was actually a bit shaken from it. I am weak, I know…zzz…
We stop at the side so not to cause jam to the other drivers. Though I highly doubt it, as it is a Malaysian custom for there to be a jam whenever an accident happened. And true enough, cars are slowing down and piling up causing more jams to the already jammed road =\
The driver that banged my car is a Malay guy. To be honest, I panic a little after I saw him. I already have all this speech prepared in my head as to what I want to say for banging my car. But after I saw him, the speech just disappears from my head. The only thing in my head was, “Oh craps, how to speak in Malay again?” -.-‘’ After I finished high school, I never have any single decent conversation in Malay. Great, just great…
But luckily enough for me, he was a nice guy. He was very polite and err… very honest as well. He told me he was having headache, so he ‘pejam mata kejap, buka, BANG!” Pretty honest huh? Anyway, despite struggling to speak in Malay, we settled it quite fast and both came to an agreement in less than 15 mins which was actually a relieve as I don’t want to be late for work and I hate being stared at by all the drivers passing by, zzz…
We went to my friend’s dad workshop to check my car and estimate the cost of repairing it during lunch time. Just my car along it would cost RM450. Encik R (the driver), didn’t have much cash on hand and the workshop doesn’t accept credit card. So I need to trust Encik R, trust my foreman and trust my judgment when he said he can only pay for the repair when he got his paycheck which is on the 7th next month =x Well, he does look honest enough. Pray that I am right. But till then, going to keep my fingers cross on the 7th next Friday.
Pray together with me k? =P
