D'Grows Inn Cafe - Western and Fusion Cuisine

Got these vouchers from my colleague. She bought the vouchers couple of months back from Everyday.com but was too busy to use them. When she gave them to me, they were like 2 more days to the expiry date -.-'' But still, it was free meal and how could I possibly pass a free meal? =P So I went over after work with SY on the last day the voucher expired =x

The interior of the cafe. Simple, but quite cozy. We were there quite early, so the place is kinda empty. But after 7pm, there were more people coming in, mostly with vouchers. Well, Malaysians are 'well-known' for their last minutes culture. The small cafe was full in less than half an hour and some were seated at the waiting area.

Honey Chrysanthemum and Mixed Fruits Juice, the 2 drinks that were offered in the course meal. I only realized after the dinner that our drinks were free flows =\

Soup of the day served with a slice of garlic bread. Some sort of cream soup. SY said it was mushroom soup, though it didn't tasted much like mushroom soup to me.

We can only choose the main course which are priced at RM14.90, higher than that we need to top up. All the RM14.90 dishes are fish, and I am not really a fan of fish, neither is SY. But none of us wanted to top up as well, hahahaha. We chose the ones that looked 'appealing' to us, blek.

Our food were slow, despite us being there early. If I recalled correctly, we waited for more than half an hour before we got our main course.

SY ordered the Bombay Fish. Grilled fillet fish marinated with Cajun and served with our chef special Bombay sauce, wedges and daily fresh vegetables. No wedges though, but replaced with cold mashed potatoes. The sauce tasted surprisingly nice but a tad too spicy for SY, wakakaka.

I went for the safer bet. Ordered the Mushroom Fish, Grilled fillet of fish served with mushrooms sauce, wedges and daily fresh vegetables. No wedges as well, and replaced with the same cold mashed potatoes. The thick mushroom gravy is mixed with some cheese. Can actually smell the cheesy fragrance. Not bad, tasted quite nice. And my fish looked more like chicken chop xD

Lastly we have the house dessert of the day, which are just strawberry ice-cream. Nothing much to comment on that one :) We finished our ice-cream quickly to make our table available for the next patrons. And it was actually my first time walking out of a cafe not having to pay =x Felt a bit weird, blek.

All in all, it was a nice meal and maybe next time I'll try their specialties.
