First heard about this place on Kit's blog. It's a new place near Queensbay which just recently opened last month. It's still new but been having some good reviews, so I thought why not give it a try. Made a last minute reservation the day before my birthday. Fortunately there were still a few tables available. Was raining heavily that Saturday. Jammed all the way from Gurney to Queensbay, and the rain never stop even after we finished our dinner -.-'' We managed to reach there in time despite the terrible weather and hectic traffics. But when we got there and I told them my name and that I had made a reservation, they told me I had canceled my reservation. Huh? o.O
Geez, how come I didn't even know I canceled my own reservation? -.-'' Well, it was so happened that there was another person with the same name and surname as mine made a reservation there as well. And she called earlier to cancel her reservation. The waitress made a slipped up by crossing out my name instead. And when she called 'me' to confirm my reservation again, she called that same person (as her name was not crossed out) that canceled her reservation. So of course, she would had told her that she canceled. Ended up, both of us also canceled, zzz. But luckily the table that I booked earlier was not reserved by anyone, so after all the misunderstanding, I got back my table xD
It was a small private room with a round table which can accommodate around 11 - 12 people. It was quite nice, our own room, own privacy, not bad ambiance and mood. The door is a glass slide door, so we can still looked out and people can still looked in. And despite being in a room, even with the door closed, those outside can still heard us. So you can imagine how loud we were, swt.
I think I uploaded a bit too much photos for this post. So am only going to write something as the photos go along. Going to start with the food first. The set dinner comes with a either a soup or salad, a drink and a dessert.
Da salad. Only my bro opted for the salad. Looked more like grasses and weeds to me, blek. He finished everything and he didn't complained, so I guess it was good?
Da soup. Mushroom soup to be exact. Lina told me the soup is nice, so I kinda have high expectation for it. But it was only mediocre for me, hehe. Not bad la.Our main course were served during the Earth Hour blackout. So the photos below are kinda dark. I know I could have on the camera flash, but I was stubborn enough not to =x Audrey and I tried to place the candles near the plates to make it a bit brighter, haha.
Grilled Fish Fillet with Emperor Prawns. Despite the 's' on the prawn, I only saw one prawn there. Audrey said it was nice, Audrea said 'ok lo' and for me, I cannot stand the stench from the fish. But I guess that it proved the freshness of the fish?
Juicy Chicken Piccata. Can't remember if I tried a bit of this. But it looked nice, and Audrey, who ordered this said it was nice. If I recalled correctly la, haha.
Traditional Chicken Chop. I tasted a bit of this and it tasted almost like Kentucky's Fried Chicken with sauce, haha. The meat was soft and tender, quite nice.
Grilled Lamb Cutlet with Starch. I know the black thing on the photo doesn't look like lamb, but believe me, it was lamb because I ordered this, hehe. It's has the same price as the chicken dishes, so I thought it would be more worth it to order the lamb instead. And I don't regret it one bit. It's was so nice!!~ The meat is not hard or rubbery, but just right. And there is no bad stench from the meat either. Cooked just right, and with the mint sauce, yummy!~ xD
Gourmet Grill Chicken and Grilled Lamb Cutlet. Took this with the flash on, as somehow we couldn't get the photo to be bright. Adrena was the only one ordered this. A combination of chicken and lamb with mini purple octopus. The lamb is the same as the one I ordered, but I think the chicken was different from both the chicken dishes we ordered. I didn't tried it, but she said it was very nice.
Our desserts, a slice of watermelon, a slice of choco cake and a cookie. First time I had cookie for dessert. Earth Hour was over and the lights were back up by the time we had our desserts.
I snapped this photo for fun. Just to show how dark it really was, haha. I know, it's lame, blek. The photos below are the candles that were in our room. Just 2 fat little candles to light up a room with 9 people =\
The candles were lit before 8.30pm. Was placed in the middle of our table.
Candles in the dark. Nice but not bright enough. Couldn't even see my food, *piangz*
This long bamboo candles was originally in our room. But the staff took it out as they need it for another table. It was much brighter when it was in our room.
A complimentary birthday cake from OXO Cafelab. Blew out the candles when they off the lights. There was a countdown to Earth Hour by the DJ, so I knew when I should blow them. I re-lit them again just to capture this photo. Candles sure look beautiful in the dark don't they? =)The curtains in the room somehow seemed to be a very entertaining toy or props for my cousins -.-''
Even Daniel Boy is having fun with it
Dotz... *speechless*
Hmm... this looks better xD
Audrea the cat. *meow meow*
The only 2 guys in our group. Black and white.

The peace sign can never goes out of trend. Everyone seems to love it so much that they posed it in almost every photos.

Not a bad place. Beside lunch and dinner, there is also a bar corner and live band performing at night. A good place to have a nice meal or just chill out with friends. Wouldn't mind coming back for another visit.
