Louis Cafe

This is a very late post. Been kinda busy lately and kinda lazy too. Not really in the mood of writing something. Well, anyway, few weeks back, my friends and I went to Louis Cafe which is at Agryl (not sure how to spell it)Road. It was a belated birthday celebration for Lina whose birthday falls on April Fool.

All of us heard of the name of the road, but none know how to get there, haha. We used our poor sense of direction and slowly search for the name of the road. We were lucky that night, as we didn't got lost and we found it in just a few minutes.

I forgot to take a photo of the cafe from the outside, so can't show how the place look likes. But it's very easy to spot once you reach Agryl Road. It's just opposite Mingood (I think the spelling is like that)Hotel.

We walked in and was greeted by a very simple and cozy setting. Tables are covered with checkered red and white tablecloth, each accompany by 4 chairs. Nothing out of the ordinary, nothing sophisticated, just plain and simple. On the wall are pictures of some of the famous landmarks around the world.

We took quite a long time to decide what to order. The lady boss (I think it was the boss), walked to our table and made a few recommendation for us. Very nice and friendly, and she patiently answered all our questions.

All of us ordered the honeydew juice. Those normal drinks such as ice lemon tea or ice peach tea fare the same price as the juice. I thought it would be more worth it to order the juice. It's RM3.80 per glass, if you are wondering.

Mexican Chicken Tortilla(RM13.90), highly recommended by the lady boss. She claimed it to be very nice and kept stressing that we should give it a try. We ordered a plate and shared among the 3 of us. The portion was moderate and it was actually quite nice. Juicy bit of chicken after every bites, not bad.

Fresh Salmon Steak with Dijon Sauce(RM23.90), ordered by Li Na. A squarish piece of salmon, splashed with some white sauce. Honestly, if I didn't know it was salmon I couldn't have guess that it was a piece of fish there, blek. I don't like it only because it was 'chao chor'. Ughh... I can't stand the smell. Taste wise, it was not bad.

Mei Ling ordered the Red Snapper with Tomato Sauce(RM23.90). Very big piece of fish splashed with even more sauce. Again, this dish is 'chao chor' as well, so I don't really like it. Maybe I just can't take fish, but does all fish dishes have to smell that bad? -.-''

I ordered the Fish Cordan Bleu(RM21.90), which by that time then, a lil' sense of regret came tingling in my head. After trying both the fish from my friends, I seriously hope mine won't give out the same bad stench. And fortunately enough, there was none. *phew~* Maybe because it was fried or maybe the ham and cheese covered up the smell, but at this point, I don't care whichever it was as long as the smell is gone xD

This was the first time I took Fish Cordan Bleu, normally I would order the chicken version. And I still prefer the chicken version. But the fish was not bad. Very filling too, but a tad dry. The lady boss walked over to our table asking how was our food. She saw that mine was very dry and requested the waiter to bring out some dijon sauce for me. Good service, a plus for that.

Wild Mushroom Soup(RM9.90), we actually wanted to order this as the starter for our meals but it was sold out. But towards the end of our meal, the lady boss told us they just done cooking the soup and wondering if we still want to order it. Freshly made and cooked, we decided to ordered a plate to share as we were quite stuffed by then.

Quite a big portion, and halfway through we were very stuffed. It was very creamy but not so creamy till you can't taste the mushroom. There's a tad difference in the taste for the wild mushrooms used compared with the normal mushrooms. Very nice.

There are lunch set and dinner set as well if you want a more cost valued meal, which consists of a soup, main course and a drink. But the main course are limited to only a few dishes. Well, if you are in town, give this small cafe a try =D
