Germany - Kassel (Part 1)

One thing I like about Germany is the traffic there. The drivers actually stop whenever there are pedestrians at a zebra crossing and let them cross. I even notice some pedestrians don't even bother looking both ways when crossing along the zebra crossing. Do this in Malaysia, and you'll be 100% run over. I guess that practically explains the accident statistics between both countries.

Doner, my quick lunch. It's a Turkish fast food. Quite nice but a bit messy when eat it. The veggies kept falling off.

Some of the scenery I took while on the train to Kassel. The train was moving very fast, so can't really get a very nice shot.

I was supposed to get off at Kassel-Hauptbahnhof train station but I got off Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe train station which is one stop before. I had this Kassel tourist booklet with me, and I read that most of the tourist attractions places are at Wilhelmshöhe. So I "act smart", got off the train and got myself lost -.- Walked for more than an hour, using my so called map as my navigation tool then I decided to give up and went back to the train station.

I tried to use the ticket machine to buy my ticket back to Melsungen but was having problem with the steps. One guy approached me and asked if I need any help. So I decided to ask him how to get to the city center instead xD He told me to use the tram. Tram number 1, and stop at this station which I really can't hear very clearly when he said it.

Anyway, I took the tram not sure where I should get off. Looked out for landmarks which I might recognize from the booklet. That was when I saw this building.

My colleague told me this is the town hall in Kassel. Big right? Compare to the one in Melsungen, this is huge.

Am wondering if this is a statue of a centaur. Human head and body and legs of a horse, hmm...

I wanted to see the Orangerie, a palace built in 1710 where the Marble Bathroom is. And the Planetarium is near there as well. Saw a signboard showing the way to the Orangerie, but somehow I couldn't find it. But I took some photos along the way.

I didn't managed to locate the Orangerie but I sorta found this place xD

Museum Fridericianum, Europe’s first public museum. The two trees blocked my view T_T

The museum from a different angle. Very big museum, can hardly fit into the camera screen -.-''

I couldn't find the name of all the buildings though I pretty much want to know it myself.

After I was done taking photos in the park, I went back to the city center.

Quite a happening place. Lots of people around.

My dinner on that night. Was already starving from all the walking, even the cold fish fillet tasted nice =x

Martinskirche (St. Martin Church), bumped into this church while I was eating my dinner.

It was almost 8pm when I decided to go back Melsungen. I followed the signboard to the train station but the more I walk, the more lost I was -.-'' It was dark and some of the roads have very few street lights. After what seemed like ages, and still no train station in sight, I decided to walk back to the city center. Thought of taking the tram back to Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe train station and take the train there to Melsungen instead.

There are this 'digital-ize' tram schedule at every tram stop. And while I was looking the schedule, I realized that the railway train also pass by the city center. And there is a train going back to Melsungen!! Hehe, I can just take the train straight back to Melsungen. Should have pay attention to the schedule earlier -.-''

Reached my hotel around 10pm. Had a quick shower and went online only to know that my friend been waiting for me to online whole night -.-'' Felt bad so we chat a while then off I went to bed. Dead in bed as soon as my head touched the pillow =P
