Touchdown at Changi Airport, Singapore, 3 hours earlier than my flight to Frankfurt. Audrey and Cavan were there to meet me, but unfortunately I was imprisoned stuck in the terminal. I was not allowed to go out from the terminal, and we even had to talk between a glass wall -.-'' Ended up taking our dinner separately. Took my dinner at Burger King and then we went back to the glass wall to talk again -.-
My plane to Frankfurt, and also my bed for the rest of the 12 hours journey. Never been on a plane that long before, till now of course.
Reached Frankfurt at 6am (Germany time), and rushed to the train station. Frankfurt airport is damn huge. I followed the sign board the whole way to the train station, found it quite easily. Hard part was trying to figure out how to use the Bahn machine to get my train ticket.
Unfortunately for me that day, all the machines were out of order and it was a very long queue to the ticket counters. Not sure if I was supposed to queue to the counter as well, I asked a lady there about my tickets. My tickets were purchased in advance through the net, and the lady told me I don't have to queue as according to her, my print out was already my tickets. The print outs were all written in German by the way. She told me my train was at 9.36am to Bad Hersfeld at Gate 3, so I went down to Gate 3.
The railway at Gate 3. I was only almost 7am then, so I just sat there and waited for my train. It was around 8.30am when I walked up to the notice board and look at the train route. That was when I noticed that there is no train going to Bad Hersfeld from Gate 3 -.-''
I went back up, decided to ask the person at the ticket counter. The queue was still very long but the Bahn machines were back up. Lazy to queue I went to one of the machine and tried get my tickets from there. Not sure how to use the machine, I simply pressed and pressed till a lady came up to me, hehe. Think she is working for the Bahn company as I noticed she was wearing the uniform. She helped me get my tickets and told me that I missed my train. My train was supposed to be at 8.11am to Bad Hersfeld and I was supposed to take the ICE train and not the railway train, zzzz. Went to the ticket counter to have all my time reschedule.
Finally, I was at the correct platform for my ICE train. The surrounding is very much different compare to the railway.
The journey to Bad Hersfeld took more than an hour and I slept the whole journey. From Bad Hersfeld, took the railway train to Melsungen which are around half an hour.
Finally, final destination reached!!
The train station at Melsungen. Quite a small one.
I went to one of the cab and asked the driver if he can bring me to my hotel. When he saw the name of my hotel, he asked me if I wanted to walk or take the cab. He stated that it's only 10 - 15 minutes walk from the train station. Since it's that close, I decided to walk and asked for direction.
At the road side, walking towards my hotel.
Hotel Hessischer Hof, finally reached my hotel.
A small car park and garage just beside the hotel.
My room for the whole week, kinda small but quite comfortable and clean.
Rest in my room for a couple of hours, unpacked my luggage, and surf the internet. Was actually very tired but I couldn't resist going out to look around. So I went out and just walked around the area near my hotel. Took some photos and here are some for your viewing pleasures xD
Zweipfenningsbrücke - "Twopenny Bridge" from 1890, same bridge which I posted in my previous post.
View from the Twopenny Bridge, Fulda River.
It was already evening when I got back to my room. Took a long nice hot shower, then I went down for my dinner. Was already very hungry then, as I didn't take any lunch earlier.
Just had my dinner at the hotel on my first night. The staff was nice to print out a English menu for me. Ordered the set meal which seemed more worth it compare to the ala carte.
My Fanta, was wondering what it was but it's only orange soda.
Soup of the day. No idea what soup it was or what were in the soup but it was nice.
Salad - Spinach, tomatoes, carrots and red chili pepper bell. I like that they peeled the tomatoes, no skin is nice, hehe. I actually ate everything except for the chili.
Potatoes Croquettes. I liked this. Fragrance and the outer layer was a tad crunchy.
Stuffed Pork Chop with Apricot Sauce. The meat was kinda tough and dry, and I put lots of gravy to eat it with. But the taste was not bad.
And lastly, my dessert. This was actually just cream or maybe whipped cream which some cherries inside and chocolate flakes topping.
Was very stuffed by the time I finished all my food. Went back to my room, online for a while, and poof, I was in dreamland.
