Well, I got the job. Should I be happy about it? I guess so. But somehow I don't feel so. After further discussion with the hiring manager earlier this evening, I learnt that the company not only may not be able to fulfil my expected salary but the salary they offered me is actually very much lower than my current salary -.- I am already having a hard time coping with what I earn now, somehow I don't see how I can survive with what they offered.
Another problem is, they wanted me to start working immediately which I can't as I'm still bind by my contract which only ends mid of July. And even if I tender my resignation letter, I need to give at least one month notice. I decided to weigh the pros and cons, and somehow the cons are pretty much heavier =.=''
The only thing good about this job is it's really pure IT field and it's a permanent job. Permanent job means more opportunity in career advancement, more benefits, allowance, bonus and all those stuff that contract employees don't have the privileges in enjoying.
Somehow I am not sure if this job is worth considering over my current job. Although it's a contract job for now, but at least I am earning more. And I already got a confirmation that I can renew my contract once this one ends. And who knows in future when the employment freezing stop, and there is headcount in my department, I may have the chance to convert into permanent staff.
If I am in a better condition than I am now, I would have consider this job as I prefer to work in IT field. It's always best to do what we do best. But in my given current condition, I guess it's best to give it up.
