car blessing

Went to 'bless bless' my car last Monday during my holiday. Wanted to do it for quite sometimes now, but has been too buzy with lots of things. But after my car was banged AGAIN, I decided not to delay it any longer. Even if my car can withstand the pain, my pocket can't withstand any more pain T-T

I didn't know what to prepare for the blessing ceremony, but luckily the small Indian shop I went to, the Indian lady knows. So she helped us with what I need. My cousin, Eileen accompanied me to the Indian Temple. I didn't know where it is, so I needed her as navigator. It's only a small temple at the road side near Waterfall. Reached there around 12pm++ and it was closed. They actually have an opening time. I always thought temple opens from morning till evening. But this temple is a bit special. They open from 9am - 12pm, 4.30pm - 8pm.

Da offering

We came back at around 5pm, then they told us they will only starts at 5.30pm =.= So we waited for a while. There is a holy tree next to the temple. It actually grows through the walls and roof of the temple. There is a short description of the tree. I'll post the picture of the description here in case anyone would be interested.

Brief description of the holy tree

At 5.30pm sharp, the blessing ceremony began. The err.. what do you called an Indian religious person? Monk? Well, assume it's monk. The monk started to sprinkle holy water (I presume), onto the Toyota Rush in front of my car, then onto my car. I went into the small temple, placed all my offering next to the God statue and started praying with the black incense.

The monk came in, chanted a long prayer which I can always never understand. Then he put some sort of ashes onto my forehead. Next he went to sprinkle lots n lots of pink flower petals onto my car. My car became a flowery pinky sight ^^ The next process I need to hold the brown coconut which he lit a small fire on it and walked around my car for one round. Then I need to smash the coconut by throwing it onto a brick. When I went back inside the temple, the monk passed me a lime which he wraped with a long cloth. I need to tie it somewhere in my car.

Mah car, covered with pinky flower petals

According to my Eileen, it's the symbol of God

The whole blessing ceremony is free of charge, but of course donation is always welcome. I made my donation, and quickly went to move my car, as there are more cars coming for blessing. I never realize lots of people would actually bring their car to be blessed, especially new cars. It's quite an experience. So those of you that has just bought a new car and want to try your luck in the lottery or for extra protection can come here to have your car bless.
