Went to Air Itam Dam last Saturday with SY. She actually never been there before till last Saturday -.-'' I never been there ever since I completed high school. Use to hike there a lot during my schooling time, but now am too old to hike, drove all the way up to the dam =P
Some cycled up to the dam. I think I might die even before I reach halfway up the hill if I cycle.
We reached quite early, and managed to get a empty lot. Usually later towards the evening, there would be lots of cars with no where to park. Leave some unnecessary things in the car and we were good to go. SY wanted to jog around the dam. But I am more of a "walker" rather than a "jogger". Don't really like jogging, either that or I am just plain lazy, blek. We walked almost all the way, only jogged the last few meters =x
Took some random shots of the scenery at the dam. Photos all taken with the Ixus 130.
Happily and energetically walking faster and ahead of me, swaying her head.
I stop from time to time to take some photos that captured my attention. I like how the tress grow so tall with the tree tops so close to each other, covering the track. Like a natural rooftop, shielding us from the sun.
Water flowing down from the hill. I remember the water current was much stronger the last time I was here.
Was testing the macro mode, but couldn't seem to get it right.
Big jungle pig, spotted at Air Itam Dam, blek.
My cheap Power sport shoe vs SY expensive "chio" Nike sport shoe.
SY claimed we need to snap photos of ourselves at the dam to prove that we were really there. Here's one of the photo we took.
While on our way back from the dam, we called up Adrena for 'tong sui' but she couldn't come out. So we decided to go ourselves, but on the way there, we spotted this banner on the lamp posts, about a Thai Food and Culture Event or something like that at Fort Cornwallis. We decided to check it out since we were headed towards town.
It was very jam when we got there, and no vacant parking lot can be seen anywhere. Made a few turns here and there till I finally found a vacant parking lot along King Street, near The Sire Museum Restaurant. We need to walk all the way to Fort Cornwallis. Walking is not really a problem, but crossing across the big road to the opposite side is. And as anyone from Malaysia Penang would know, Penangites are well known for their fast and dangerous driving skills. But luckily for us that night, we managed to walk across (back and forth) smoothly xD
We went in the fort and came out in less than 15 minutes. There was nothing much there, zzz... After went through all the trouble of turning round and round hunting for parking and walked all the way there, it was kinda disappointing. There were only a few food stalls, some booth promoting Thailand, a performance stage which we didn't even bother watching and Taiwan Snowy Ice *wonders which part of it is Thai =x*
We tested out the night mode function from the digital camera on the City Hall Building. The heritage building famous for its bright light surrounding the front section of the building at night.
Taken this with the low light mode from somewhere in the middle of the huge field. Lazy to walk closer we just sat at the field. Can't remember if SY zoomed in to take this but I am quite impressed with the result. I zoomed in the photo in a 100% view and noticed that the photo has almost zero noise defect. Of course the quality is not as good as those pro DSLR but not able to find any speck of blue and red dots on the photo is pretty impressive for a normal digital camera.
Anyway, after done shooting, we went back to Plan A, tong sui. Drove over to Sugar Dynasty Food Delight, been there a few times now. Again I need to drive in circle for a vacant parking lot. Finally found one and again it was a distant from the shop so we need to walk AGAIN -.-''
My Lam Rice and Ice Mango Sago. Was super duper hungry by the time we got there, but somehow I almost can't finish my food. I did finished them in the end xD
SY ordered these 2 desserts. One bowl of cold tang yuen and one bowl of some sort of hot barley with egg. I don't know what they are actually called.
I tested the macro mode again after I was done eating. I managed to snap this one shot with the blurry effect and after that failed again T_T
Went back after our dinner. Took a shower and went to bed soon after. Tiring evening and night... from all the driving and walking.
