After our lunch and some rest, we continued with our next event, caving. We were supposed to cave in Gua Tempurung, but due to heavy rain, some section of the cave was closed. Seems like the wet areas were flooded. So instead of just caving experience, our tour guide turned it into an Adventure cum Caving Exploration.
So off we went to Kandu Cave. Unlike Gua Tempurung, which is surrounded by lots of facilities, Kandu Cave is totally out in the wild. Max parked the van at the road side, and handed us each a protective helmet. He said that most of the stalactites in Kandu Cave are dead, so there is a possibility that it may falls off. So, just in case it does falls off (which it didn't by the way), we got our head covered and protected =x
Once again, there was a short briefing about safety and things we should do and not do. We got started soon after the briefing, and all of us were wondering where is the entrance of the cave. We were at the roadside, around us was nothing except jungle and the cave lies deep within the jungle.
Nah, our entrance to the cave. Our journey begin with a short jungle trek. Before we can begin to explore the cave, we need to hike up a short steep hill to the mouth of the cave. It was seriously steep, and the rain from the morning made it even insanely steeper -.-''
Halfway up the hill, Mei Ling spotted these two err.. creatures. I am using the word creatures as I honestly don't what they are. I don't even know if they are insects, or amphibian or reptiles. Ok, reptiles maybe a lil' bit farfetched, blek. We tried to snap a few photos of them, but they kept moving around the branch everytime we approached closer. They didn't fly, or jump or move very fast, just move slowly to the right when we approached left, and to the left when we were on the right, zzz. All the photos are blur due to that, and the photo above is the best shot we got. Anyone knows what creatures they are, please enlighten me. Arigato in advance xD
Finally, we reached the mouth of the cave. It was dark inside, so we can hardly see anything inside. Throughout the whole exploration, we relied heavily on our trusty torchlights. The place was pitch black when we turned off our torchlights, and it was a bit creepy. We only got 3 torchlights for the 4 of us, and halfway through the cave, Max's torchlight failed on us, so we were only left with 2.
The photos below are blur and not very clear due to the poor lighting and very dark surrounding, so please bear them with me =x
Stalactites, taking the form of a jellyfish.
Fallen stalactites, dead but not gone.
Taken this photos while we were below and looking up. On top is another opening of the cave. Max asked us if we wanted to climb up and take a look on top. We were reluctant at first, but in the end we climbed up anyway. There is a rope that we can used it to support ourselves. It was easy going up, but getting down was a pain zzz.
Yay!~ We reach the top. My helmet was so darn crooked -.-''
The view looking out from the mouth of the cave.
View looking down from the top. I like this one xD
Stalagmites, in the form of a tiger's head and part of its front body.
Tiny stalactites, still alive with water dripping from it.
Shot from a different angle.
End of our caving exploration, this is the opening where we came out. Couldn't get a good shot on this one. The opening is very dark. Used Photoshop to brighten it, but it didn't fix much.
We looked like miners, after a long and hard day at work =P~ My shirt was still wet from the rafting =x
After rafting, we went back to Gua Tempurung. Washed ourselves and changed in the world's smelliest and gross washroom ever. Never in my life had I almost suffocated in a washroom. The washroom floor was muddy, toilet bowl looked disgusting with lots of brown stuff around it, ughh, *trying not to visualize how it looked like again* and the bad stench of urine is so overwhelming. I seriously thought I would suffocate and die in there, zzz.
By the time we were ready to go back, the place was already empty. My car was the only car parked in the middle of the car park. We took a quick look around and snapped a few photos here and there.

Mini version of Gua Tempurung. Well, since we can't cave at the real cave, I guess this will have to do for now.

Lake at Gua Tempurung.
So, that was all to our trip. Drove another 2 hours++ on the way back, was raining on the whole journey back as well. We were pretty lucky, as it only rained on our way there and back. We saw 1 or maybe 2 accidents on the highway. I could never understand why anyone would still drive so fast under the heavy rain. Taking risks, taking chances and taking lives for granted.
Reached home very tired, had a nice hot shower and got to bed straight after shower. But not after applying some yoko-yoko on my shoulder and legs. Still suffered from muscle pains the next day, but all in all, it was a fun and worthwhile trip xD
Anyone interested in the trip can just visit this website http://www.traversetours.com/ for more info. There are other agencies as well which offers white water rafting, after my experience with Riverbug, I found their service quite good. Wouldn't mind looking for them again if I ever plan to go for another outdoor activities.
And last but not least, thanks to those that are concerned for this fun trip and making it a reality ^^v
