This is a very late post, just got the photos last week and only had time to looked through and edited them yesterday. My cousin, Eileen's birthday actually falls on the 7th April, but she celebrated it on the 4th April, which was also actually during 'Cheng Beng' -.-'' I asked her about it, and this was somewhat how the conversation went.
Me: Why celebrate on the 4th? si hor si guik, so che le. Somemore on 'Cheng Beng'
Eileen: No choice la, everyone only free on the weekend. Plus even if I celebrate it on my actual birthday date also no difference.
Me: Huh? Why?
Eileen: My birthday on the 7th April ma. You see la, in Chinese, 4, 7 - shi zhi (means died ki) then terbalik the number 7, 4 - zhi shi (means go die). Even more worst la.
Me: .... *speechless*
Well, regardless the not so auspicious date, a lot of people came. I came quite early, so when I got to Sri Sayang, no guests had arrived yet, except for those that were helping with the party preparation. It was supposed to be a bbq party at the beach, but because of the rain, it became an indoor party.
Eileen's friends at work. Paiseh, can't remember their names. They are helping Eileen out with the preparation. They seemed to be having lots of fun helping out.
Some of the food which were supposed to be barbecued, but instead fried. I was hungry by the time I got there, so I kept stealing the hot dog to eat while Eileen kept replacing the ones I ate to maintain the pyramid shape =P
More guests had arrived and also the arrival of the fried tom yam bee hoon. One of my aunt was in charge of cooking the fried tom yam bee hoon. She and her family arrived quite late, and by the time they arrived, we were quite full. But still we can't resist the fried tom yam bee hoon. It was delicious, simply irresistible xD
There weren't much to do there, except for eating, talking and taking photos. I uploaded a few photos to share. Will try to explain more on the photos as it go on, blek.
I don't remember any alcohol drinks being served, but the faces of those guys sure were red.
Eileen with all my aunts.

With her sis, Annie and future sister-in-law
With Daniel Boii
With her co-workers
With her ex-housemates.

With her old high school friends

I actually can't recalled when I took this photo or who taken it for us. Hmmm, my brain deteriorating.

Da mighty cake~~ One whole big chunk of key xD

Group photos of almost everyone. Noticed the small round green cake beside the mighty big key cake? Eileen's sis purposely bought an expired birthday cake. It's been like a tradition in our family, for those celebrating their birthday to be splat faced down the cake. And that expired cake served that purpose.
Big rolls of tissue paper were prepared. Even crying won't be much of a help by that time.
Armed with some protective haed gear, the shower cap!! But it wasn't much of a help.
Everything happened very fast. No signal, no sign, no nothing, all hands were pushing Eileen's head faced down the cake, except for mine. I didn't even had time to react, zzz. In the end I just clapped my hands and cheered on, whee!!~~ So down went her face, splat faced down on the cake, shower cap off and all.
And became a happy creamy face Eileen.
The aftermath, a mutilated cake. Mutilated beyond recognition. Poor cake~~
Going to end the post with the photo of Eileen and all her presents. There are still a lots of photos that I could upload, but was too tired and lazy to edit them. It was 5am++ when I done editing the last photo yesterday.
Overall the party was ok for me, but that didn't matter. Most importantly is that the birthday girl had fun, which I believe she did =D
