midnite wet bbq + small bday party

How do you suggest I should celebrate for my brother's birthday this coming month? I know, let's do bbq at the beach, one of my cousin exclaimed out. And that was what we did last Wednesday, an early celebration for my brother's birthday, bbq at the beach. If I remember correctly, the last time I had bbq at the beach was during TK's birthday. Had quite a fun back then.

Anyway, back to the post, I applied half day leave as I was not feeling very well that day. Could have been due to lack of sleep from preparing all the lambs and wings. Took a couple of hours sleep, then off we went to the nice old beach at Batu Ferringhi. We headed out in two separate cars, as there were 9 of us. It was quite late when we started off, and to make thing worst, the petrol raised that day =.='' So, everywhere with a gas station, there were long queues. It kinda caused a massive jam in some of the roads =\

We finally reached our destination, after almost an hour. Quickly took our stuffs to the beach, the old usual spot. Used to go there a lot when I was still in my teens, with all the kids, cousins, my uncles and aunties. We would either be having bbq or fishing. But it kinda stop all of a sudden, guess most of us have grown up and getting older by now, each busy with our own things. With our own life, our own things, our own friends, we sometimes forgot what family really meant. Ironic huh?

Ok, now where was I? So we put all our things down on the big rocks. I started to dig a hole to make the bbq pit. My cousins and my bro joined in and we made quite a big hole. We tried to burn the charcoal with newspaper =.=!!, as the fire starter were in the other car with the other group and they still haven't reach yet. It was a miserable attempted, but after 10 minutes or so, the other group arrived, yay!~ At first I tried to start the fire, but then I saw that the sun was setting, and it was a very beautiful view. I leave the fire starting task to them and grabbed my noob camera phone and started to snap away, blek. I know I was evil =P, but they did managed to start the fire XD

We decided to dig into the sandwiches we made earlier at home. All of us were already starving by then. Forgot to take pictures of the sandwiches we made though, so can't upload them here. We made two types, ham and cheese sandwiches, and mayo-egg sandwiches, nice =D Halfway eating the munching my sandwich, I realized something was missing. I looked at the pit, then I asked, how come no one is bbq-ing the sausages and the meatballs? That was when only did we realized that we didn't brought the sausages and meatballs, it were at home, swt-ness =.=''

One of my cousin, forgot which one, stated that the skies and clouds further ahead were very dark. Foresaw that it would rain soon. And true enough, not long after we put the wings on the pits, it began to rain. It was not very heavy but I asked them to pack the things. We decided to go after the wings are done. But only when the wings were half cooked, it began to rain even heavier by the minutes. Nevertheless, we decided to wait till the wings are done =x

We packed everything that were still left unpacked when we were done with our wings. Cleaned up the place, placed all the rocks back, covered up our fiery charcoals, and once everything was done, we headed back to our cars. Just as we were starting to walk back, it started to pour mercilessly on us. All of us were drenched wet ~.~ We tried to quickly walked back to our cars, as it was dark and we only got two flashlights, it was a bit hard to see. We got to our cars, cleaned ourselves a bit and drove back.

Back at home, all of us got ourselves cleaned, wiped ourselves dry, changed into a clean and dry piece of clothing, and off we went, bbq again, at home of course, lalalala~ Alright, more pictures XD

Well, everyone had a lot of fun that night. Despite the heavy rain, we still managed to pull everything off. We bought too much food though, still a lot of sausages, meatballs and drumsticks, but we were too full to eat even one bite. We kept the leftover, cleaned the place up and went to bath one by one. I guess thats wraps up the bbq event ^^

The next agenda of the night was to surprised my brother with the birthday cake we bought. We didn't actually planned it beforehand so it was actually quite awkward. Nevertheless, everything went well, we came out from my uncle's office with the birthday cake, sang a birthday song and presented him with the cake. The rest was traditional I guess, made a wish, blew up the candles, all those stuffs. It was a small chocolate mint cake, and we finished it in no time. It was too minty in my opinion though.

Well, that wraps up the whole night agenda. Everything went well, everyone had loads of fun. It was not a bad night at all ^^
